So according to Love Honey women are 'vulva owners' but men are still allowed to be referred to as male'.....

I am missing the point but.......why did they choose the vulva for us to "own?" Why not the vagina, the clitoris, the fallopian tubes, the labia - why pick on the innocent oft-misnamed vulva? Is it because transwomen who choose genital surgery end up with a version of one? Why the vulva?

Well... the vulva is relevant in this context... and I'm pretty glad they went for vulva instead of vagina, it's more accurate for the purpose.

The irony here is that it's very much different to eg women's underwear etc which can be worn by both sexes and which is why the TRAs remove the women / female descriptor so that it can include them.

Here, the users of the "male masturbator" are the ones most likely to kick up an almighty fuss as of course we are all supposed to go along with the fact that they are not male!!!

So the TRAs wouldn't actually give a fuck about the use of female for clitoral stimulation as they mostly don't have one. They do however mostly have cocks so it's the "male" masturbator that really needs changing if LoveHoney are trying to be woke they've used the wrong thing completely.

I honestly don't understand why these companies just don't engage? X says change this they say we'll look into that and then ignore.

Easy. Then you do a quick well worded survey of your customers and if then asked by X again say we surveyed our customers they weren't receptive to that idea.

Love Honey have been pulled up for this before. Pretty sure there was a thread, anyway their use/misuse of language has been discussed and complained of here. I assume that must have generated some letters of complaint and I think they were also taken to task on twitter.

Some years ago, before I had heard about any of this, I met a lovely young woman who worked there. I hadn't heard of Love Honey either but she was telling me about her job that she loved. Great company etc etc
I think she was head of marketing or similar, would write news letters etc. she was so funny and made me laugh a lot. I really hope she isn't responsible for this, and has moved on to a better job.
