Wait, is this live? I'm very confused. Maybe it's a recording. Ach. It seems to have changed as I watched.

ArabeIIaScott · 26/04/2023 13:37

Right, apologies, the recording starts halfway through what Kemi was saying. There's a bit at the begining where she discusses healthcare with Michael Fabricant, and bit of discussing of males in women's prisons. I'll try to find if there's a recording of what Kemi said in its entirety.

There was a question from a Labour MP on drag Queen story time.

KEMI in the HOC NOW live
Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/04/2023 13:43

Talk about appropriating Humphreys' death, who signed a letter pledging support for JKR.

ArabeIIaScott · 26/04/2023 13:43

Yes, but Kemi was there talking about WESC, I just can't get the bloody playback stream to work, it keeps jumping around.

This is the question I want to see answered:

Q4.What assessment she has made of the adequacy of the definitions of protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010. (904638)

Maybe I'll come back later and try it, sometimes seems to take a while to settle post recording.

Labour’s Vicky Foxcroft does not know the difference between a character and a performer. Bit like when Alan Rusbridger was on Radio 4 last Sunday morning and referred to Barry Humphreys as “she”. 🤡🤡🤡

ArabeIIaScott · 26/04/2023 14:01

He never did? FFS.

In another PMQ Tim Loughton MP and the PM taunted Starmer for not being able to define a woman in order to protect women's rights:

Thank you, ThisisUncool! It's all bloody backwards!

And after all that, they're not saying an awful lot. No mention of clarifying the EA.

I wonder if any action has to wait until after the local elections? The schools guidance was trailed as "May" for example. Who knows.

ThisIsUncool · 26/04/2023 14:44

You're right, ArabellaScott. They're not saying much, but at least the issue is being raised, and it was the first thing asked about in PMQ.

If that's the case - I have no idea if it is or not - then they need to say so.

ResisterRex · 26/04/2023 15:03

Surely the schools guidance is directly linked to this issue? It has to be, doesn't it?

Yes. We are inching closer.

Half term holiday is in May - so maybe the timing is to coincide with the new haf term?
