That's disgusting.My dad drilled into my brain growing up that (most) cops are men, and men will put themselves in positions of authority so they have access to vulnerable women and girls who wouldn't be readily believed. I was always aware of them, that you need to make every encounter with the police a public one with witnesses if you don't want some thin blue line bullshit pulled on you by a bad apple. And you do hear of female officers getting sexually assaulted and bullied by their male cohorts, but cases like this always cement the fact that this is INSTITUTIONAL. This guy didn't act without oversight from at least someone who knew about it and was willing to stay silent, if not actively lie for him.
