Gogglebox Mary is a terf!

Anyone catch that? 'they put Margaret's mum on a mixed sex ward. Can you imagine? An elegant 90 year old lady? She said it was so strange, that man was waving at me all night' (wank hand gesture)

Played for laughs but Mary knows, that's not right. No willies in women's wards please, we're (terribly) British 😊

I haven't seen Googlebox for ages, so I am somewhat mystified by these posts, but I do know who Mary & Giles are. Mary is also the agony aunt at the Spectator and is a friend of Rachel Johnson. She knows Boris J, too; from uni I think. So that's their social set.

To my point - do I understand correctly that a 90 year old woman was on a mixed sex hospital ward and had to deal with a man making wank gestures at her?

Does this abuse of women never stop? I'd have hoped at 90 we might be thought too old to be subjected to this, but apparently not.

This. Terfs aren’t transphobes, they are feminists who exclude trans women from their definition of women.

A lot of us would include trans men within the definition of women quite happily. It’s not transphobia.

We were meant to stop talking about this when all the media, politicians, police and courts, and civic societies told us that we were bigots, nazis, transphobes and committing literally violence.

We didn't, which is why the men's rights activists are now just outright punching women.

Yip. It was included for laughs on Gogglebox but Mary wasn't laughing, it's utterly horrifying. Imagine your elderly relative being subjected to this, it's unthinkable.
