Panelist Nicola Thorp said JK Rowling had abused trans people but surprise surprise was not able to give evidence. Why does this not get challenged. Also used the term phrase afab and cis. Completely brain washed.

Same shit, different day.
JOB, now Vine.

Of course if he had a guest on who was uppity about cyclists, Vine would be all over them like a cheap suit.

Jeremy Vine is selectively ignorant on this issue.

He listened to the Nolan podcast about Stonewall last year and tweeted admiringly about how interesting it was. He knows, but he prioritises protecting his own interests (and his massive salary) over being a good journalist.

I mean, why bother to be a good journalist when you get paid so much for being a shit, credulous one?

RealityFan · 06/04/2023 11:23

But don't get him started on cycling...then he takes a view.

Blackandwhitehorse · 06/04/2023 11:28

Accusing Jk Rowling of abusing trans people is defamation surely. I think these people need to understand they can’t go round saying absolute shit about people without evidence.

He hardly ever challenges anything. Just lets people spout whatever crap they like without addressing even the most obvious factual inaccuracy

Felix125 · 06/04/2023 11:46

Its typical of the people on the show

Henry Bonsu once said that the only reason why police officers claim they have been assaulted is to prevent a complaint against them. Next caller raised the case of PC's Bone & Hughes who were murdered on duty, yet he claimed not to have heard of them and was completely dismissive of the caller.

Storm Huntley hosts the show a lot better in my opinion.

I once tuned into this ridiculous show. There was a debate on water consumption, with people calling in to say they don't need water to live and instead happily survive off Coke.

I think the aim is absurdist comedy, so in that sense it is excelling.

Amazing how Vine, O'Brien etc are able to carve out lucrative careers. And their sheer uselessness is brought into stark relief during a period that needs the highest journalistic standards.

The likes of Paxman and Day wouldn't trust them to sort the refreshments for interviewees.
