I couldn't get past the interminable screed about the evils of socialism I'm afraid.

Wake me up when Ireland gets a socialist government. Or a social democrat one. Even a 'one nation' conservative one. The current uber capitalist gang brought in Self ID after all.

@Abhannmor I'm just pleased that the Irish media is starting to report & it ain't positive for Trans. The Gript are excellent, extremely GC.

Interesting article, but I would hope that leftist elites aren't quite as sick as to deliberately want to enforce absurdity on people.

This man "Giuila" now has the rights to play on women's sports teams & use women's safe spaces in Ireland. In the article he says he "feels completely comfortable with his genetils". Can we get this article doing the rounds like the others. WhatsApp is best. This is what's happening in Ireland.
Imagine your daughter running into him or one of his tribe in a women's changing room or toilet.
He's comfortable with his genetils good for him. But I'm not comfortable & most women wouldn't be. Why are his feelings more important? It's discrimination against women.

Trans Fetish Enthusiast Reportedly Advising Irish Policy on Men in Women’s Sport

An interview in the Guardian claims 'Giulia' Valentino has been consulted as part of a policy review into inclusion of males in Irish women's football

The #nodebate policy has caused all these types of problems, because nobody was allowed to say that people who transition fall into groups which are very different in many ways, including why they wish to transition.

The activist group which has the most power doesn't want us to discuss any of that. We are just expected to accept all transitioners, whatever the outcomes for women and girls might be, and to pretend that there aren't a whole bunch of reasons for transitioning and that some of those really should have been publicly discussed.

The Minister for Children Roderic O Gorman tweeted this at the weekend. He got his nutsack thrown back at him. The comments are heartwarming. Ireland is shouting & pushing back. @nepeta read the comments, not even the TRAs could comer on to defend him. For once they were silent 😁

While I’m gender critical and believe that even a broken clock is right twice a day, I wish people on here would stop posting links to Gript.

Please google John McGuirk before sharing a link from that “media outlet”.

IMHO Irish media isn't waking up at all, they're burrowing down even more.

Off the top of my head there were two articles in Irish broadsheets this weekend that were the same old same old

Jennifer O'Connell in the IT comparing JK to Enoch Burke and saying shes bringing the death threats etc on herself https://www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2023/04/01/jennifer-oconnell-jk-rowlings-witch-trials-are-of-her-own-making/

and then Elaine O' Loughlin in the Examiner claiming anyone who questions any of this is a persecuting a vulnerable minority and being hysterical about men in dresses https://www.irishexaminer.com/opinion/columnists/arid-41106466.html

The only real change I've seen in the Irish media of recent is the Independent publishing a photo of Barbie Kardashian. Apart from that its a few lone voices putting their heads above the parapet and then some more articles calling people names for questioning this

Enoch Burke and JK Rowling have the same approach to victimhood

The bestselling children’s author sees herself as a victim. But she gets to put her phone down and walk away

@Imarealwoman, thanks for the Twitter link. While I fully understand that people on Twitter are not necessarily a representative sample of all (Irish) people, it's still good to see debate cropping up on these issues.

Imarealwoman · 03/04/2023 22:16

But surely the comments under Roderic's posts tell the mood in Ireland. Not even the TRAs came on in solidarity with him, they stood back & let him get hell on their behalf!

Let's hope so!

The reason I put in the warning is that in some countries politicians found, to their disappointment, that voters for their party were not properly reflected in what goes on in social media.

One study found that people on political Twitter are more likely to support the more extreme positions on both ends of the political spectrum, so that building policies on their opinions alone might not make as much sense as polling a wider group of individuals.
