Trans identifying male jailed

Sharing this here as I feel it's important to see both sides on a forum like this, where there are many articles shared about scenes getting nasty at protests, and I haven't seen anything about it yet.

This male woman was imprisoned for 9 years for "superficial wounds" inflicted upon another male woman. Do we think that if it had been a male man doing it to his female woman partner he'd even have gone to prison for this?

My opinion: It's sad, and makes me fearful for the poor female women who might have to share a jail cell with this rapist.

Transgender woman, 54, is jailed for nine years for stabbing

Zara Jade, 54, from Halifax, West Yorkshire, slashed her victim in the arm and abdomen while she sat on her knee.

I see what you did there! And you are of course completely right.

What is a male woman?
From the way I understood it, a man (who identifies as a transgender woman) has stabbed another man (who identifies as a woman) and it's now unclear whether the perpetrator will be sent to a male or female prison.
Is that right?

Sorry it was confusing to type tbh. Wasn't sure what we were allowed to say on here. But yes that seems to be the case.
"She then attacked her victim - who was able to stem the bleeding from her 'superficial' wounds with a cloth - while demanding to know her PIN number. The police were contacted after a district nurse saw the complainant's healing wounds during a visit a few days later and Jade was then arrested.Deputy circuit judge Timothy Clayson was told that back in 1988, Jade had been locked up for five years for rape and other sexual offences."9 years in prison for the above. I know women whose husbands haven't even been arrested for doing worse.

The choice of prison will be interesting - current offence violent but not sexual, but history of sex offences. Enough to count as 'rapist gender' or not?

I saw this on fb and was surprised all the comments thought they had put the wrong picture of Zara on. Very few seemed to realise this man could still look like a man and say he was a woman.

Does the fact they’re refusing to say whether he is in a male or female prison likely mean he’s in a female one?

Another thing that doesn’t happen but has happened again.

Under latest guidelines it is meant to be bio sex for initial assessment, with possible move later. Probably not assessed yet.

Been sent to a male prison. Let's hope it's not just for now
