Students protest against gender neutral toilets

I was heartened to read this protest by students in the US and hope the tide is well and truly turning against this gender ideology nonsense!

You’d think so - however it seems trans women don’t like using a third space toilet as they ARE women and therefore have the right to use women’s’ toilets.

India Willoughby tweeted about how he refused to use gender neutral toilets in Manchester Airport and went off in search of the womens. His tweet was supported by other trans women who said they did the same.

It’s not about the physical toilet as I naively once thought. It’s about infringing on women’s rights.

I lack full knowledge and understanding with trans, hence this question,

if a person is a man, then wants to alter their body parts so it looks like a woman, and trys to change their psychological mindset from being a man to being a woman, then how can they truly be a 100% authentic women, if the original body structure, original psychological mindset ect was all male ?

logically how can it not make them an imitation rather than fully authentic ?

Or is it a case of they want to dress like a woman, think like a women, ergo everyone then should say they are a woman ?

Its interesting that in this case the student using the opposite sex bathroom was a female identifying as male -which led to the boys starting the protest as they don't like a girl coming into their space (completely understandably). I don't know if girls are also taking part. But good for them, and it shows that although the physical safety issues might impact girls more, actually both sexes are affected by a loss of dignity/privacy that having to share leads to.

IMO it’s all based on delusion and that’s were preferred pronouns come in. If a man asks me to refer to him as she/hers then I am not willing to co- operate as it’s compelled speech. I am not buying into their fantasy in the same way I’d refuse to chat to their imaginary invisible friend. I can clearly see they are male.

Men can NEVER be women in the same way the women can never be men. Sex is immutable.

I was looking at some tweets earlier which featured trans women and my OH had a look and announced, “Jesus! At least your old school trans women made an EFFORT to appear to present as women” which made me lol as he’s right in many cases!

That's the thing, it seems like some want the transferable perspectives if they say they are eg a woman then they are, but if they don't dress like a woman ect, then it just looks like a man in the women's toilets etc

@namitynamechange yes I thought that was really interesting too! Good to have support of males in this issue as it does impact on them too!

A man can't think like a woman, he can only think like himself. No more than I can think like anything or anyone I'm not. At best a man can only think like how he imagines a woman to be. Clothes are just clothes, hormones and surgery (most don't bother) can only change the superficial.

@Hawkins00 also worth noting that sone of them declare that they don’t feel safe using male toilets due to the males in there. However they have no qualms with making women fearful in their use of the female toilets! It’s genuinely astonishing!

That's what I wondered with it all. You can shape. And customise , but in the end it could always be debated that the modifications amount to being a replica rather than an original ?

So I guess replica ladies mixing with authentic women.

Obviously no offence intended, just that I haven't got a clue about the trans issues and I'm trying to learn, one foot at a time.

Not even a replica, a replica car is still a car. The best they can hope for is a facsimile, like those cardboard wedding cakes. If they're lucky they might pass a a real cake but it's only surface.

From what I have read it seems trans women feel “validated” using women’s single sex spaces.

Many TRAs can’t seem to accept that they are not and will never be actual women. However this is not true of the trans community as a whole. Some, for example Blaire White, are grounded in reality. Blaire has been on the receiving end of abuse from TRAs due to this!

The idea that a third option is not acceptable makes me even more convinced that the line of sex and gender being either male and female defined by nature is the only way forward. I think the clearer the option the better as it seems to me that any attempt at compromise is just a one way street.

@twelly it is interesting to note that TRAs have not been campaigning for third space toilets!

That would remove their validation. Therefore not desirable.

@HelloWorldMessage sorry what I was trying to say was that a 3rd catogary would be a compromise but know that this is not wanted which I find quite odd. I am beginning to come to the view that the whole issue is being driven by a small number of activists who are very good at making their views heard

You are sadly mistaken if you think transwomen think like women. They are men so they think like men, I can understand why, it must be hard to give up the reality of male privilege and male entitlement if it is all you have ever known, and after all when it comes down to it big lips and big tits and tight skirts aren’t quite the same as being cock of the coop even if you are being brave and living your true life. So why not have both? Leave thinking like a woman to the women…….. after all they need to leave us something having taken our safe spaces, our toilets, our right to express ourselves , our hospital beds, our women only shortlists, our rape centres, our sports , our language………..

A male friend, part of Gay scene for years says men often cannot understand how women are actually afraid of someone far more strong than them - and often with a penis- is in a women only space.
Trans-men do not pose a physical threat to men.
