This is now the world we live in. Violent and hateful men get rewarded for using violence against women.

My name is Eliana Rubashkyn and I was born in Bogotá, Colombia. I’m a trained pharmacist and speak five languages fluently, and until recently, I was studying for an MBA in Health Administration in Taiwan on a government scholarship. I also used to be a man.

Taken from CNN website-lets face it, only sex can become trans women

happydappy2 · 30/03/2023 20:15

only "one" sex

ScrollingLeaves · 30/03/2023 20:52

known for being the first intersex person assigned male at birth legally recognised as a womanwith a UN mechanism

I was not sure that this really meant Eliana had a DSD and had been wrongly thought to be male at birth.

Lots of men say they are ‘intersex’ without it being true that they have a DSD, ‘assigned’ a sex when their sex was just recorded, and become a woman legally through some official system.

The wikipedia article goes on to say, "She was assigned male at birth, but was born with an intersex condition known as Partial Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome."

happydappy2 · 30/03/2023 22:01

Elaina says themself via the CNN article, that they were born male.

only one sex can become trans women, and it isn’t female.

I'm sure I read an article where the circumstances Eli describes were very close to CAIS because her body does not respond to testosterone and after childhood surgery she was given additional testosterone to no avail, because her body converted it to oestrogen. Elizabeth said that their voice has never broken. If she has an extreme case of PAIS her body may not have looked unambiguously female at birth but it cannot be masculinised because it doesn't respond to T. I assume understanding of DSDs and the most appropriate and humane treatment wasn't that good in her home country as a child. I'm sure the experience would make anyone feel like an outsider. No excuse for the assault and the hatred directed at women, but it doesn't sound like a straightforward situation.

“Rubashkyn fled New Zealand shortly after being made aware that police were planning on issuing a warrant for his arrest on charges of assault”

So - tipped off by the police, then.

I appreciate anyone can write a wikipedia entry (though watch out for the bros who have appointed themselves as editors) but thought as so much was about what the UN had or hadn't done that nobody would have made that up.

But then I think, who knows, if it suits their agenda they have let it stand.

I am sure if anyone is bothered enough it would be possible to see if the entries match with UN PRs at the time.

But quite honestly I feel a bit silly wasting time on this self promoting individual.
