'She Said' Great film about Harvey Weinstein but where has that sense of anger gone in such a short time?

I was watching this film tonight and got a real sense that things were changing, that finally sexual abuse of women was being taken seriously, but it already feels like a period piece
especially after the recent events in Australia and New Zealand ( and the TRA protests in Hyde Park today )How the hell has women's rights reversed in such a short space of time...?

Late to this thread I know but I’ve only just seen this film and am wondering the same fucking thing.

It's not accidental is it?

It's a backlash.

  1. Hollywood was revealed to have a serious issue with sexual exploitation and rape
  2. One person went to prison
  3. Hollywood vowed to learn from this by... Producing a lot of patronising content about how bad sexism is and how people need to listen to Hollywood and jolly well sort themselves out
  4. Backlash
  5. Feminists to blame

Old thread but I just watched this week. I thought it was really good. It’s incredible how quickly that moment was lost and no it’s not a coincidence.

i was attending a work training event with a victim focus during metoo when the Welsh mp died - which was of course really sad. But I remember listening to conversations and realising there was backlash before the metoo moment had even fully happened.
