Following on from the last couple of days in Australia, New Zealand and London yesterday, it looks like TRAs surrounded this weeks #Letwomenspeak gathering but I think the police have now moved them on, so hopefully everyone is safe.

I’m away that weekend, annoyingly.

BrokenMorning · 27/03/2023 08:56

@TangledUpinBlu Iast time I went I left the pub about 8pm, there were still women there, though the group starts thinning from about 6.

Ohnohedident · 27/03/2023 09:02

TangledUpinBlu · 26/03/2023 16:02

I will be there next month.
The Monday is a bank holiday so no work/school so that should make it easier for a few people, I hope there will be a massive turn out to welcome Posie home.

Me too!

Have megaphone, will travel. 😁

I mean, now I know its my human rights an all...

ExiledElsie · 27/03/2023 09:09

I'd recommend taking some ear defenders/ear plugs. My ears were ringing for hours afterwards yesterday.

IWilloBeACervix · 27/03/2023 09:10

Just watched the video. Brilliant. Well done to Venice and everyone that was there. Great speeches. Well done to DJLippy for finding that speech by Hilary Clinton (does that mean Hilary Clinton is aligned with fascists now?). I got emotional with all the singing and joined in this morning at home.

I would have loved to be there, but family commitments meant there was no way I was able to travel all the way to London. I’ll be there for the next one.

HagoftheNorth · 27/03/2023 09:16

This is ridiculous isn’t it - never mind having access to single-sex spaces and services; now women are not even allowed to say that they want them.

MetPolice say everyone can come and go as they please. So that means that they won’t do anything unless a woman is brave enough to try to leave and risk being attacked - knowing that the police won’t be near enough or quick enough to stop her being seriously hurt if it all kicks off. Despite the clear threats - which are an offence in themselves.

MishyJDI · 27/03/2023 09:23

nilsmousehammer · 26/03/2023 16:47

"People can have a go as they please" at women arguing for their equality.

You heard it straight from the mouth of a London Cop folks.

No. They are arguing for exclusion. Of course there is a right to free speech. There is also a right to criticise that speech. LGBT people and their allies are simply objecting to the speech expressed. The police are there to ensure no-one gets hurt in the process. There is no right to free speech without criticism. That applies to both sides. It just appears that there are not too many gender criticals to make a louder voice, than there are those who oppose their views.

sanluca · 27/03/2023 09:51

Of course women are arguing for exclusion of all male people from their single sex spaces and sports. We all know you are against single sex spaces and sports for female people, Mishy, but women are still allowed to argue for it without other people being threatening or worse. Have you see the 'worse' from the last few days? Not just referring to KJK and the liquid thrower, but also the woman who was punched into hospital and the video of the 'protesters' and the police outside the Lesbian project.

Really, Mishy, start denouncing those thugs on your side like you keep expecting KJK to denounce neo nazis who turned up at her rally, not in support of her btw, but to fight with transactivists.

Ramblingnamechanger · 27/03/2023 09:56

Time to recognise ,Mishy , that the L part of the pretend LGBTI+ “community is sick and tired and left a while back, those that didn’t will be joining us when they realise just how bad it has got. Please tell what this lovely rainbow coalition, so keen on shouting down women, has ever done for lesbians.

Listening to DJ Lippy reading that HC speech was horrifying in that so many decades later it's more relevant now than it actually was at the time.

And that bloody song, it makes me cry every time I hear it. And they did it twice!! I join in at home as well. My neighbours must think I'm nuts.

Next time everyone go ing should take megaphone. Id love to hear all the women singing it through megaphones whilst the children shouting at them look on!

You think it's totally unacceptable that female homosexuals should be attacked and punished like this for wanting one solitary group that is just for female homosexuals where male lesbians have every other group?

And that it's acceptable to mob and blockade and terrorise to 'oppose views'?

nilsmousehammer · 27/03/2023 10:16

Because what I'm taking from that is 'women who want any space or resource away from men deserve to be attacked and terrorised'.

Is that what you're standing behind?

Seriously?

I mean there is a LOT of 'if she hadn't opened her mouth I wouldn't have had to batter her, officer' going on across the boards and the world wide press today, but come on. Is THAT really what you mean?

Ohnohedident · 27/03/2023 10:38

Yes, that is very much what our friend and his ilk mean.

Exactly that.

Ohnohedident · 27/03/2023 10:40

The only question is; are Women going to let them get away with inserting their woman hating ideology in to the laws of the land.

HagoftheNorth · 27/03/2023 10:44

Mishy, it’s a Let Women Speak event. Any woman can speak. Even men can speak if there is time once the women have finished. Any tra supporting activist can offer a coherent argument, I for one would be delighted to hear it.
Many women can’t get to the rallies because, unlike many TRA’s we have responsibilities in our families and communities. Many women won’t want to go because they are, quite reasonably, scared of being surrounded and attacked by males. Remember? They are bigger and stronger than most women, even if they choose to wear a dress (and I wholeheartedly support their right to make that choice)
Look at the footage then genuinely explain why any woman would feel safe lying vulnerable in a hospital bed with one of these nutters next to her.
You think this behaviour demonstrates a win. I think it demonstrates EXACTLY why women need single-sex spaces

tootiredtobother · 27/03/2023 10:48

may I ask what might be a daft question,
why does, Let women speak, advertise the date of the meetings so readily, that the nutjobs in TRA and all the others get the chance to turn up so quickly.
we need to go underground more, i would love to go to a meeting but I am frankly scared

No! Why should women have to do that? It's 2023.

Why should the meeting time and place have to be hidden?

The more the mobs of incoherent, not understanding the words they are shouting, turn up to drown out groupss of women who just want to talk the quicker the world realises that this is fucking insane!

There are plenty of ticket-only meetings where the venue isn’t released until the last minute, & even then the thugs normally find out & come to yell at us, but the whole point of these ones is that they’re open to everyone. You don’t have to be ‘in the know’ or vetted, you can just come along.

And yes. It’s scary. But it’s bloody worth it.

nilsmousehammer · 27/03/2023 11:08

I agree Beetle. I also agree with the guy yesterday talking about it all from the POV of gay men, who talked about Ghandi's action to just keep on peacefully turning up and doing it and letting the behaviour roll in full public view.

nilsmousehammer · 27/03/2023 11:17

Gandhi. Sorry. Not nearly enough coffee yet.

That's precisely why we go. The public space is our space as much as anyones. The idea that women should meet secretly and not speak in public is outrageous. We can't defend our rights by hiding.

nilsmousehammer · 27/03/2023 13:45

Another very useful video. They all show the exact same thing, this one particularly illustrates people really quite.... high.... on their behaviour.

And the police doing fuck all. Even when people are being followed and bullied directly in front of them. They have absolutely humiliated themselves this weekend on multiple films.
