Following on from the last couple of days in Australia, New Zealand and London yesterday, it looks like TRAs surrounded this weeks #Letwomenspeak gathering but I think the police have now moved them on, so hopefully everyone is safe.

I will be there next month.
The Monday is a bank holiday so no work/school so that should make it easier for a few people, I hope there will be a massive turn out to welcome Posie home.

QueenHippolyta · 26/03/2023 16:09

One gay man is better than none but utterly shameful.
Dr. Em is there and the fab Dr. Julia Long
With the terrible reports about the misogyny of the Met, you'd think these morons would like to look good, actually protecting women...

EmpressaurusOfCats · 26/03/2023 16:26

I went. As far as I know everyone got away safely but the police told us that they had to let the TRAs keep their megaphone because their human rights trumped the bye-laws.

ArabellaScott · 26/03/2023 16:28

A megaphone is not a bloody human right.

Appalonia · 26/03/2023 16:30

That police officer that Glinner interviewed was pathetic. And really dismissive about the danger the women were in. You'd think, after the recent report about how misogynistic the Met are, they might want to be seen to be protecting women, but no...

RhannionKPSS · 26/03/2023 16:30

Well next time the women take a megaphone too!
Well done all the fantastic women who turned up to speak. Hope you are all safe & sound. It was so lovely to hear you all singing our Lucy’s new words to an auld song. Women’s rights are human rights!

As somebody said, the Met have been labelled misogynist and homophobic- but not transphobic. Isn’t that interesting.

Well if the Troons can ignore the by laws .....you need a decent sound system.

I'm glad you're safe. We need a megaphone.

RhannionKPSS · 26/03/2023 16:38

I see the New Zealand consulate in Edinburgh had a visit from the ribbons & sticker women today. 💚🤍💜

QueenHippolyta · 26/03/2023 16:40

I'm so glad you are safe.
And the videos of women being surrounded and drowned out by those trans activists is louder than any megaphone....

Appalonia · 26/03/2023 16:41

Sorry should have posted the link to Glinner's conversation with the police officer.

A big THANK YOU to all the women who attended today,
The whole situation is utter madness and I can hardly believe this is reality,
Keep strong everyone,

"People can have a go as they please" at women arguing for their equality.

You heard it straight from the mouth of a London Cop folks.

As much use as a bag of arseholes.

RaininSummer · 26/03/2023 16:50

Thank you to the brave women and other supporters who were there. Am too far away to ever get there really myself.

nilsmousehammer · 26/03/2023 16:51

What'll you bet if women kettled TAs, the police would not stand around wittering about 'people can have a go as they please' but be arresting?

Sick and tired of the reliance on women just constantly being the good guys who can be treated like shit because you can rely on them to maintain appropriate behaviour whatever the provocation.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/03/2023 16:57

The wonderful "Women's Rights Are Human Rights" singalong.

Just seen a transcript interpreting it as 'people can come and go as they please'

Which would be less 'people are entitled to do what they want to women' and a bit more 'I cant see anything' denial and gaslighting.

So more or less the same thing, just with lies.

I have to say I heard it as

'People can come and go as they please'

Which the surrounded women obviously can't do, so it still is a shit response from the PC, but slightly less bad than 'have a go'

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/03/2023 19:10

It looks like they're all safe and in the pub now twitter.com/roseveniceallan/status/1640045153325858819?s=46&t=SPorwN-mokktL467rcZ57g

Venice Allan
Jan from Object
Dr. Emma Hilton
Dr. Julia Long
Aja the Fearless
DJ Lippy

Dr Emma Hilton is also a great speaker and a tireless campaigner for women's rights in sport, but she wasn't there today as far as I know. You mean Dr Em.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. I am an old woman and easily confused

TangledUpinBlu · 26/03/2023 21:19

Can anyone advise what time it usually starts/ meet up before hand and also end time leaving from pub is generally?
I will be there next month and need to book train tickets from the midlands, if anyone else is thinking about it and needs a meet up/travel partner feel free to pm me.
Return fare on the Sunday is £48 at the moment so not too bad.

EmpressaurusOfCats · 27/03/2023 07:46

It starts at 1, I’m not sure what time the pub usually finishes though.

Ndd135632 · 27/03/2023 07:52

What day is the next one. KJK needs a welcome home.
