Sorry if this has already been linked on another thread, but I can't see it.
Double page spread. A must read. If anyone can archive it that would be great.

Final paragraph: "The 20th century's appalling toll of racism, sectarianism, misogyny an homophobia have all accustomed us to the idea that moral justice is wedded to the defence of those fighting for improved rights. Now, uncomfortably, we may have to get used to the idea that in some cases, the majority can sometimes be right, with understanding and tolerance, to push back."

Push back? How exactly?
IOC changes to TW in female sport won't apply to levels below elite.
Threads here show how women have to kowtow to the corporate TRA ethos.
Schools won't release RSE info to parents.
The party about to get a landslide in 2024 is TRA ethic, or at very least Self ID-adjacent.
EU is introducing scathing laws re online discussion to further chill GC discourse.
MSM lazily maintains TRA tropes ("her penis", "female rapist", "anti trans KJK").
Any victories like Sturgeon immolating, IOC decision, is buried within a landscape that is wider and broader on the TRA ethos.
It feels like a never ending civil war, where our GC side scores some big hits, but the landscape and population are scarred over a bigger and bigger area.

Is that a clumsy way of saying, the world needs critical thinking and boundaries against those who are violent, irrational and behaving in socially appalling ways even if they happen to be shouting "we are the goodies!" at the time?

Because yes. Yes, that would be a very good start.

'All it took was leadership to act'.

I hope others will note that.

Yes. My Daily Telegraph subscription is clearly worth every penny. They are running so many articles from the point of view of women's, children's and parental rights in all this genderwoo nonsense.
I was a 'remainer' but being outside the EU may make it easier to resist the general trans drift across the western world right now.

It's a rather overly optimistic piece I fear.

I also never read The Telegraph before Gender Ideology took hold, now they are one of the few mainstream media outlets talking about biological reality, having articles by feminists and showing the stark discrepancy between new laws and policy to purport to be about helping “trans” individuals when they are eroding women’s and children’s rights and putting women in actual physical danger.

I pay for a subscription now. The Guardian which I read a lot in the (distant) past will never get a penny from me again. Total traitorous bastards.

Tricyrtis2022 · 26/03/2023 18:22

It is optimistic but I think we need that just now. People have been so brow beaten these last several years that they must now be encouraged to say 'No'. That's my take, anyway.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 26/03/2023 18:42

not a bad article. uses gender when it means sex and the archive copy has a painful typo which is expect is corrected on the telegraph website now, but it's pretty comrehensive

Yes, that "marshal/martial" typo jumped out at me, too. Standards are slipping...

'War'. I wish the media would try to calm things down rather than fan the flames of conflict.

I guess the Torygraph need stuff to write about that isn't about the abject corruption and stupidity of ex-Cabinet ministers, or the institutional misogyny of the police.
