Did Senator Lidia Thorpe Try To Attack KJK At The Canberra Event? Your Thoughts?

EpicChaos · 24/03/2023 00:50

Just found this SKY News piece on YT about it.
It appears to show Thorpe making her way towards KJK and then being dealt with by security.
I watched the Canberra event on YT but never picked up on this at the time. Did anyone else? What that woman ( KJK ) has to cope with, sheesh!
An elected representative behaving like that - how shameful!
As for our Aussie sisters that took part in the Australian events, well done all of you very brave, very stunning women.
One day, your names will be written in the history books - for being on the right side!

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says following Senator Lidia Thorpe’s student at the women’s rights rally the parliament should “boot her out”.“She disgraces our P...

And if you plan to be writhing on the ground in protest or spreadeagled in front of something, why would you choose to wear a mini skirt?

Because she loves attention.

She also wore one to lie on the ground to block a Mardi Gras parade- here.

People blaming the police or KJK for what happened in Canberra should spend 2 minutes on Google before defending her. She is a deeply unpleasant piece of work who will do anything for attention. She is appropriating victimhood. Don’t fall for it.

Senator Lidia Thorpe removed from Mardi Gras parade after protest against police

Federal senator Lidia Thorpe says she lay on the ground in front of a float — interrupting the parade until she was removed by officers — to protest against police violence.

There is a phrase used on here which says ‘play stupid games and get stupid prizes’

she was dealt with by police and security in the same way anyone would be if they were perceived as a threat

hopefully if there was an over reaction by the police and security this would be investigated…..i am in no way saying it was an over reaction

NotTerfNorCis · 24/03/2023 08:51

She ran up to KJK with a flag raised over her head shouting 'you are not welcome here' over and over. It's not clear what she would have done if security hadn't stopped her, but when she's struggling with them, she seems to be lunging towards KJK as though she physically wants to get hold of her.

Then TRAs are sniggering, they wouldn't let a woman speak at a Let Women Speak rally.

The whole point was that she was trying to stop women speaking.

NecessaryScene · 24/03/2023 08:54

Given how "anti-trans" KJK is claimed to be, you'd think she'd have lain down in front of a trans parade or stormed the mic at a trans event by now.

She's really not putting the effort in - just holding her own events and not interfering with trans events at all... Why haven't we ever seen KJK being grabbed by trans stewards?

NotTerfNorCis · 24/03/2023 09:05

Her Wikipedia page has already been updated to spin her version of events:

In 2023, footage emerged of Thorpe being tackled to the ground by a police officer while attending a demonstration outside of Parliament House. Thorpe was part of a group countering an anti-transgender rights rally at Parliament House. Australian Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus is believed to be investigating the matter, having sought advice from the commissioner of the Australian Federal Police regarding the matter.

If people watch the LWS event KJK did let a TRA woman speak, she tried to engage with her, as the woman was complaining about lack of healthcare for trans people. Kellie asked her what healthcare they could not access.
That's when the woman had no response. So yes, Kellie does let women speak.

turbonerd · 24/03/2023 09:24

So Lidia says she was «pulverised» by the security in a video statement.
She has been «mauled and manhandled» and now «tackled to the ground».

It is a miracle she was still able to speak in that video. What with being totally pulverised, mauled, manhandled and tackled to the ground.

Someone also posted a very sped up and choppy video that showed - who knows? It was such a bad source. I don’t see how I can take that seriously as anything but a mockery of people’s intelligens and an attempt at the old Fake News.

What is worse, It makes a mockery of people suffering actual violence and police brutality.

But of course, one must keep up with the most opressed’essed and that is a difficult, mind boggling job.

I have noticed a very odd style of posting on here lately, very similar to what this woman is doing. They are super outraged at some rather contrived shit, and it looks like they cannot read properly. Mind, I have been a bit quick and misunderstood posts too, but we are talking Pages upon Pages here. It seems very … not well thought through.

next we’ll hear KJK set her doberman’s on the protestors.

Yep, what they are guilty of themselves, they want to project on the other side.

The world image is starting to be created that the Australian senators are a bit odd and limited, with this following the one who announced that women wanted equality were poo.

It's a shame. For decades Australians have had the international rep of being calm, positive and level headed. It looks like, along with the rep of Brits having good manners, that the times have changed.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2023 09:40

Everything they say, at any time, is a series of inane gotchas based on words and language. It's a feature of their movement.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2023 09:53

Given how "anti-trans" KJK is claimed to be, you'd think she'd have lain down in front of a trans parade or stormed the mic at a trans event by now.

The only people I can think of who have done anything like this are the brave lesbian women who took over at the front and led the Pride in London parade for about a half an hour in 2018. They threatened no one, just lay down in the road and removed to move. Did the TRAs think that the police/event security should have been able to use violence to remove them then? Yes, yes they did. They were raging about it.

And at Manchester Pride, in a reference to a similar event, the drag Queen compère said that the lesbians "should have been dragged off by their saggy tits".

dimorphism · 24/03/2023 12:28

The main thing that this video made me think is 'the size and power differential between men and women is so stark - it's obvious why we don't want men in women's intimate spaces'.

Whatever you think about what happened, the security / police man would still have been able to overpower the woman trying to get to KJK if he'd been wearing a dress and on artificial hormones.

I thought it really made our case for us. It's just obvious, there's such a stark difference. I do think he was quite restrained and did the minimum needed to prevent the attacker getting to KJK, but still. Men are so much stronger than women.

I've found MNHQ to be pretty good if you ask them to look at a pattern of posting, rather than just individual posts

Was she going to attack Kellie? Probably not. More likely try and take or damage the microphone or disrupt the speech.

But her security don’t know who is a threat do they? Presumably they have to perceive everyone as a potential knife wielding maniac.
I suspect KJK is at quite high risk of being attacked. Trans activists are acting out in more and more unhinged ways and I suspect this will attract some quite unsavoury characters. I saw some footage earlier from Canberra of a man blowing kisses at a woman filming the demo. It was overtly sexual and threatening. Someone up thread mentioned Salmon Rushdie and we know it only takes one nutter with a knife and some lax security.

IwantToRetire · 24/03/2023 16:26

@EpicChaos Fingers crossed that you're soon long in front of your behind.

Today it feels like is it dragging me backwards. But that's more because I was up far to late on FWR - partly because I had lost my internet connection earlier in the day and got over excited at being back in the virtual world

@nilsmousehammer

The world image is starting to be created that the Australian senators are a bit odd and limited, with this following the one who announced that women wanted equality were poo

It's a shame. For decades Australians have had the international rep of being calm, positive and level headed. It looks like, along with the rep of Brits having good manners, that the times have changed.

Well I feel the same, that my perception of Australian politics has certainly changed.

But the I thought, what is it that is going on with MSM, which like it or not is where most people are going to get their information.

As on the other long drawn out thread about the LWS speak tour, the "optics" being created are really bad, particularly for KJK and for women's issues.

Its always a worry when both left and right press have virtually the same headlines and allegations.

The reports are no longer news, but about being seen to be saying the right thing.

Like the incident at the Sarah Everard event, initially some outlets (Sky news even had diagrams showing how the crowd surges at specific points) talked about outsiders agitating, but then they all went into lock step and started saying the same thing.

And again, not knowing about the Australian media, are they all owned by the same publishing group? Why are they whipping up this fervours against KJK?

Apart from anything else, when you see the footage, it has never been as it was in Glasgow huge numbers at the events. Why is the media trying to make out that a relatively small number of women (those brave enough to attend) are this massive thread.

Its totally out of proportion. More about mass hysteria in the media than anything else.

And one thing you can be sure of is that the media will never accept that they are responsible for creating false narratives.

(Sorry this is off topic, but another story - again about women - that is now reference as evidence that white working class women just cant help making fools of themselves is the incident based on photos of women pushing burgers through the bars to school children. This is now used as examles of how some people dont understand the value of fresh food and are maltreating the children by force feeding them fast food. The reality was that after the Government closed a lot of school kitchens and professional school cooks ie mainly women were sacked, then blue eyed boy Jamie Oliver said this was wrong, so having ignored women the Government said of yes of course. So they chose a school to experiment on re-introducing cooked meals, but as usual being impractical tv chefs they had no idea how to cater for a large number of children all needing food at the same time. The women weren't shoving burgers through the rails as an anti fresh food protest, but because a large number of children were not getting any lunch.)

EpicChaos · 24/03/2023 21:20

@nilsmousehammer " For decades Australians have had the international rep of being calm, positive and level headed. It looks like, along with the rep of Brits having good manners, that the times have changed. "

I agree entirely, Nils, I've been very shocked at the Aussie politicians of late. I thought they had far more about them but it seems they must have spent too long out in the sunshine and given themselves a heatstroke, which has left them a few prawns short of a barbie, permanently! :-/

Exactly, @Signalbox security have to be prepared for worst case scenario and react accordingly, it's no good waiting until something has already happened before stepping in, their job is to pre-empt such happenings and that's what they did.
As i said, I don't think sanity is high on the list of qualities of your average tra, so best not to take any chances, imo.

@IwantToRetire Fingers crossed that you're soon long in front of your behind.

" Today it feels like is it dragging me backwards. But that's more because I was up far to late on FWR - partly because I had lost my internet connection earlier in the day and got over excited at being back in the virtual world "

There's nothing worse than the internet going orf, it's like life has ceased to exist :D LOL :D
Also, very easy to find yourself up half the night, especially when someone is wrong on the internet lol.

As to your other point about the white working class women - it is soup de jour, to lay blame for everything at the feet of the working class, yet it is the working class whose meagre resources and resourcefulness that the yuppy type middle class leech off, far too often, like a plague of locusts they're there, ready to take resources but give nothing back except insults.
The working class, as always, continue to provide the whipping boys for that group of the middle class, they were happy to rely on the WC during lockdown though, to keep shops open and deliver the food etc., but never at any other time.
Still, it's not the WC whose attention starved, mentally ill kids are sterilising themselves into extinction, genociding themselves even.
" Quality time "? The clarion call of the MC parent but it really wasn't good quality, was it!

Looks like KJK has now been assaulted in NZ so perhaps now the people saying her security are being heavy handed can pipe down.

Oh the irony of the world having to make a big feminist fuss last year about the 10 year anniversary of The Famous Misogyny Speech in Aussie parliament and yet when five groups of misogynistic men show up outside of Parliament a few months later it's the women standing for women who are to blame.

www.abc.net.au/news/2022-10-09/julia-gillard-misogyny-speech-10-years-on/101501484

We've heard it all now haven't we. Lefty feminists at the forefront of amplifying the misogynistic mens performance.

I can't take feminist women seriously when they talk ONLY about what men did.

EpicChaos · 24/03/2023 23:44

I take my hat off to that woman! I seriously do.
A day will come when people of Auckland realise that the rights women have lost in NZ, are gone forever and they'll wish they'd listened and that they'd stood shoulder to shoulder with her, instead of letting a load of cowards treat women like that. Wait until it's their mothers/sisters/wives!

If you want to garner the support of the vast, silent, middle, Australian public having Lidia Thorpe pulling one of her ridiculous attention seeking stunts against it is a pretty good method.
