@EpicChaos Fingers crossed that you're soon long in front of your behind.
Today it feels like is it dragging me backwards. But that's more because I was up far to late on FWR - partly because I had lost my internet connection earlier in the day and got over excited at being back in the virtual world
@nilsmousehammer
The world image is starting to be created that the Australian senators are a bit odd and limited, with this following the one who announced that women wanted equality were poo
It's a shame. For decades Australians have had the international rep of being calm, positive and level headed. It looks like, along with the rep of Brits having good manners, that the times have changed.
Well I feel the same, that my perception of Australian politics has certainly changed.
But the I thought, what is it that is going on with MSM, which like it or not is where most people are going to get their information.
As on the other long drawn out thread about the LWS speak tour, the "optics" being created are really bad, particularly for KJK and for women's issues.
Its always a worry when both left and right press have virtually the same headlines and allegations.
The reports are no longer news, but about being seen to be saying the right thing.
Like the incident at the Sarah Everard event, initially some outlets (Sky news even had diagrams showing how the crowd surges at specific points) talked about outsiders agitating, but then they all went into lock step and started saying the same thing.
And again, not knowing about the Australian media, are they all owned by the same publishing group? Why are they whipping up this fervours against KJK?
Apart from anything else, when you see the footage, it has never been as it was in Glasgow huge numbers at the events. Why is the media trying to make out that a relatively small number of women (those brave enough to attend) are this massive thread.
Its totally out of proportion. More about mass hysteria in the media than anything else.
And one thing you can be sure of is that the media will never accept that they are responsible for creating false narratives.
(Sorry this is off topic, but another story - again about women - that is now reference as evidence that white working class women just cant help making fools of themselves is the incident based on photos of women pushing burgers through the bars to school children. This is now used as examles of how some people dont understand the value of fresh food and are maltreating the children by force feeding them fast food. The reality was that after the Government closed a lot of school kitchens and professional school cooks ie mainly women were sacked, then blue eyed boy Jamie Oliver said this was wrong, so having ignored women the Government said of yes of course. So they chose a school to experiment on re-introducing cooked meals, but as usual being impractical tv chefs they had no idea how to cater for a large number of children all needing food at the same time. The women weren't shoving burgers through the rails as an anti fresh food protest, but because a large number of children were not getting any lunch.)
