Police Scotland are investigating possible fraud within the SNP linked to previous CEO, Peter Murrell who is Nicola sturgeons husband.

is there any update on this? I keep hearing that there will be progress but nothing has been done - is it stalled for the FM election?

Unfortunately there's been no update since the beginning of February where senior leaders were being interviewed (no names released). Wings over Scotland has a foi request into the scot gov about it which should have been responded to by Tuesday gone but hasn't so time will tell. However there are rumours going around that due to the level of control that the Scottish system gives to the government over both the police and the procurator fiscal (it's a bad system that is asking to be abused and needs reform) and the way that Stergeon has allegedly used this power previously that the police and fiscal are waiting to find out who wins before they go ahead with the case ie if hamza wins the case is quietly dropped but if Reagan or Forbes wins SNP bigwigs lose there cover and go to jail. How much stock you want to put into rumours is up to you I'm personally taking the wait and see approach
