LibDems don't want women

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 20/03/2023 11:08

Motion to ensure women's quotas are additional to gender quotas is voted/shouted down. A group made up entirely of men (counting as men) and non-binary men (counting as women) is perfectly balanced, according to the LibDems.

This issue seems to have been the nail in the coffin for a party that I previously admired.

Chrysanthemum5 · 20/03/2023 11:36

Ok at least they are being clear about it rather than pretending like Labour.

Still not sure which party I can vote for

tedgran · 20/03/2023 11:57

I'm in a Libdem constituency, I won't vote Tory or Labour, so I will spoil my ballot paper again.

HermioneWeasley · 20/03/2023 11:59

This has been their position for years - they were quite clear they didn’t want my bigoted vote when I wrote years ago to clarify their position.

off you fuck then

334bu · 20/03/2023 12:06

A lib dem mep candidate told me that a company had achieved sex equality if its board consisted of 5 men and 5 males who identified as women. They are a lost cause.

Kucinghitam · 20/03/2023 12:14

I'm usually a very disobedient partially-sentient support biped, but just this once I'll do as I'm told by The Righteous, and definitely not vote LibDem.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 20/03/2023 13:23

This has been their position for years

True. '... still don't want ...' would have been better in the thread title.

Agree they've made it very clear. So be it.

RosaBonheur · 20/03/2023 16:18

I stupidly voted Lib Dem in 2019 when I wasn't really aware of this issue yet.

It was my first time voting Lib Dem since #IAgreeWithNick and the tuition fees fiasco.

What is the actual point of the Lib Dems?

In 2015 and 2017 I voted for Dr Louise Irvine of the National Health Action Party. I wish I could vote for her again but unfortunately she doesn't stand in my constituency any more and I can't bring myself to vote Tory, Labour or Lib Dem so I will spoil my ballot paper for the foreseeable future.

KalimbaMoon · 20/03/2023 18:01

Absolutely horrifying - I will never vote for those braying woman-erasing clowns again! 🤡 I live in hope that Labour may be salvageable at some point down the line, if Starmer ever grows a backbone. But the Lib Dems can cis off for good! 😡

LizzieSiddal · 20/03/2023 18:08

The Lib Dem, a political party ruled by and for Misogynists.

I’ve voted for them in every election since the late 80s. Never ever again.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 20/03/2023 19:23

I've tactically voted for them when in a constituency where a vote for Labour (pre-TWAW) would have been wasted. Never again.

Grammarnut · 20/03/2023 19:28

The comments on the Liberal Voice Article praising conference for not listening to women are shockingly misogynistic. Bigoted? Everyone of the commentators are an exact example of bigotry. And the libdems expect to get votes while they behave like this?

Artisticpaint · 20/03/2023 19:32

you could vote SDP, communist or Tory. Parties don’t care about spoilt votes but they do care about other parties getting your votes.

Birdsweepsin · 20/03/2023 19:33

Dropping this article in here as well as the other thread:

Seems he's disappeared from Twitter and FB now. Hate speech against women.

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 20/03/2023 20:43
