I thought you might all enjoy my Mothers Day Card from my 16 year old DS. He always writes an essay with a massive dollop of sarcasm and this is this years efforts.

Made me smile but I'm not sure I can put it up!

Translation of the written message - (please ignore his poor grammar!)

Happy Vagina havers Day!

To Mum,

Although your not a true woman because you didn't previously have bollocks, your as close to a mother as I will get. Although all my friends at college bully me for having a cit-gender woman as my mother I want you to know I am only half as happy as them because I lack a trans queen as a mother and role model. For your gift to condone for your sins of being a vagina haver, I have taken the liberty of donating £100 to Mermaids to help beautiful trans babies get the life saving surgery they need. Maybe try harder and at least be a l lesbian so you stop making the family appear so privileged.

I know, I understand that it was a joke, satire. All was saying was that sometimes when we make broad brushstrokes pops at one thing, we can risk saying something unintended about things that weren't our target.

Maybe I'm missing something? I just think that signing off with a list of things that are self-diagnosed by some groups in order to mock the ridiculousness of them serves the joke and the his point about trans stuff, but it is inadvertently saying that all of those those things are made up, laughable, ludicrous. And finding that you experience prejudice and hostility for being a member of a racial minority is none of those things.

I'm not trying to have a row, I'm not saying your son is unpleasant or cruel, I just think that humour can sometimes land in places we don't intend, that's all.

If he is taking the piss out of those things he is taking the piss out of himself. He is autistic and has had mental health struggles that often go hand and hand with being neurodiverse.

As for the race and religious minority, well if we can identify as being the opposite sex and that must be believed well why not with race and religion? Why is Rachel Dolezal bad but men who dress as women are not? That is the point he was making. As FOJN mentioned above everyone is identifying as everything on TIKTOK he's of that generation and he can see right through it.

I am sorry you feel offended and you feel that his humour misses the mark but remember the card wasn't addressed to you, it was addressed to me and I know that you are finding offence where it wasn't intended .

I'm austic too and have ADHD @lifeturnsonadime and I found it funny. 🤷‍♀️ I took it exactly as you suggested: all the fake "self-diagnosed" people who reckon they are "a bit on the spectrum" 🙄 and make a mockery of our conditions. The same as TRAs and "self ID"ers make a mockery of the small number of people with genuine gender dysphoria.
