Apparently Women's Day Derby are hosting an event entitled Is pornography harmful for society?
So far so good, but then goes on to use the term feminist porn.

I guess they know there’s no point trying to ban porn (if only! But the male MPs would never vote for it).

So they mean they want the porn that is made to be not harmful to women ie not be trafficking victims being hurt and told they love it while teenage boy watch and learn that’s what men should do to women.

Calling it ‘feminist porn’ is dumb they should have been honest and called it “less harmful porn”.

And using the word liberating sounds dumb as well.

Why "feminist-porn" is an oxymoron, with Gail Dines

Thanks for that podcast, I've just listened. Gail is amazing. Ironically at this pro porn event in Derby they are screening Pornland by Gail Dines. I just don't understand how they can believe in feminist porn whilst at the same time calling themselves feminists. It's a complete contradiction. From what I can see this is THE women's group in Derby (with various sub charities HERStory, Vox Fem all run by same person) and as a previous poster said they banned WRN from having a stall at IWD.

Honestly, in this society there is no such thing as "feminist porn". I fell for that shit hard in my 20's because I actually have somewhat of a bi aspect to me and I did nothing for me ultimately. Soleless, unsexy typical imaginative male gaze shit all of it, typically zero aesthetic or ambience just Gonzo slap dash focus on the penetration hich makes sense because that is how men tick. However, I generally find that biological females as opposed to the err, other kind have a much greater aprecciation for form, sensuality, atmosphere and aesthetic and for me that is always missing.

Plus I'd rather get lost in the moment of having actual real life sex with a person I actually know. Been there, done it, yawn.

This is not the Soroptimists, though they they had a stall at IWD Derby. WRN Derby/Staffs who were there said a couple of Soroptimists spoke to them and were on board with WRN values.

This is Women's Day Derby who host IWD Derby, Reclaim the Night, Fox Feminista, HerStory. They are THE so called voice for women in Derby but in my view they are dishonest about their feminism. It includes men and thinks porn is good for women, totally out of touch. I suspect the Leader knows all the right people in the Council.

Women's Day Derby are on Twitter and Facebook. They blocked most of us on Twitter last week. Facebook they are deleting questions.
Women's Day Derby allow anyone who identifies as a woman to be on their committee. We can assume they are TWAW. So I do believe they are pro porn and think it can be done in a way that is feminist. As can be seen from the Leader of Women's Day Derby (and all the other reiterations of this in Derby).
The post is a complete contradiction. I think they have lost their way with feminism and are confusing themselves in order to be inclusive.

I would be interested to see feminist porn, made for women, actors that genuinely enjoy making it, focussed on women's pleasure.
But not enough to pay for it. I'm kinda meh, watching people have sex isn't something I'd pay for. I'd rather actually have sex.
Assuming most women are like me, feminist porn ain't gonna happen.

Enough men however are more than happy to spunk (literally) money satisfying penis needs, so porn is here to stay. See also prostitution.

They are far too late to the game to make porn feminist (not that I believe that is possible) it's gone too far in so many ways and yes it is all about men's needs (I'm told!).
