School ignored parents safeguarding concerns, boys were smashing locks and pushing in doors.

Bloody awful, I went to this school many years ago and the boys were bastards sometimes but not one of them ever dared go in the girls loo. Poor lass 😔

Maedan · 18/03/2023 00:46

The school says the toilet was supervised at the time so this happened with a teacher present? 🤷

SSA seem to be a minority of Teachers who actually care, most are abusing or enabling it in various ways.

We all went to school ourselves and all know many Teachers aren't nice humans.

Yeah I don't know why the school is highlighting that it makes them look infinitely worse that this is what happened even under supervision.

I simply don't believe a word of it, they're just saying that to weasel out of being blamed.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 18/03/2023 08:21

Gender neutral toilets are violence against women. Can’t anyone see that? Disgusting.

Fucking he'll! Comments in bold

Caludon Castle insisted its unisex toilets were supervised at break time [that makes this worse, you utter tools!] and fitted with locks [not according to this poor girl]

It said it would 'seek the views of our students and a parent reference group, to get to understand people's concerns'. [Safeguarding is automatic minimum, you don't need agreement for that. Did you ask before you switched them in 2017?]

Headteacher Sarah Kenrick added: 'The safety and wellbeing of our students is the school's number one priority, [apparently not] and we are extremely concerned by last week's incident. [That's OK, then]

'Standards of our expected respectful behaviours have been reinforced through assemblies and tutor groups. [It worked a treat]

'There are two sets of unisex toilets in the school [why?] and the others are single sex. The unisex toilets are supervised at break and lunchtimes.' [Why do you need to supervise them at breaktimes? Why should pupils and parents by reassured by that when supervision didn't stop.this boy assaulting a girl and sending her to hospital?]

I don't think my blood pressure can take it!

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 18/03/2023 09:20

The toilets are supervised is such a bizarre defence. If under supervision boys are able to kick in doors and seriously injure a girl, what the hell happens in this school when the kids are unsupervised!

Are Ofsted involved? I wonder if this is a serious enough incident (safeguarding fail) to warrant a reinspection?

Hoardasurass · 18/03/2023 10:29

Why hasn't the boy been arrested and permanently expelled from the school this was a sexually motivated assault he was trying to film her on the toilet! I can't believe that the school aren't taking this more seriously. I really hope that the mum reports this to the police and sues the ass off this school and local authorities

Crouton19 · 18/03/2023 10:44

Why do the mixed sex loos need supervising? Seems to suggest they knew there would be issues in which case, go back to just single sex loos. Absolute melons.

Precisely.

SinnerBoy · 18/03/2023 10:53

I absolutely disbelieve their claim that the toilets are supervised and were supervised at the time. What do they mean bit? That some teachers were on the school premises, somewhere?

StephanieSuperpowers · 18/03/2023 10:55

I don't believe it either. I suspect they've had parent contact since the unisex toilets were introduced and assuaged concerns by saying they were supervised, but they were too confident that it was all fine and just didn't bother.
