Never ceases to amuse me that when men make a blunder - that women politely ignore / deal with - the men are convinced no offence was taken.

His question was insensitive and demonstrates how far out of his depth he is.

This was very enlightening.

How does he think he can represent Scotland?

How have we gotten to a point where our politicians are this incompetent at their jobs. They can't even stop themselves from putting their foot in their mouth at least once a week.

Not the brightest star in the firmament. Guess it makes a change from : why are all these young men of fighting age coming over here ?

Although I'm not sure what point Yousaf is making.

I think it was an attempt at flirtation which makes it even more nauseating and crass.

I asked his office why the hate laws (then in the planning stage) don't cover misogyny.

Got the usual answer that they will get around to women's issues on some later date, yet to be determined on (and probably around year 3487 or so), after the more important goals had been achieved.

Wait, so was his mistake asking literally where the men were (who are obviously back in Ukraine fighting the war), or was he asking "why am I only meeting these little women, rather than men who are obviously the important people"?

Oh come off it - that doesn't make it any better. He's just trying to cover for the massive gaffe, "Ooh, I definitely saw some men earlier, though. Honest".
And it's still obscenely tactless to ask a group of women whose husbands may be dead where they are.

And of course the women can't show offence: he's probably about to be FM and they are refugees.

Does Yousaf sit on his elbows when someone offers him a chair?

This is the man who condemned the Westminster Government housing female refugees with male refugees, when he was sending violent male prisoners to female prisons.

And remember that this was at an event for Ukrainian refugees, at a centre for Ukrainian refugees, which HY had chosen to attend.
It's not like the Ukrainian women unexpectedly came up to talk to him in the street, and he had a brain fart - I'd have some sympathy in that case.

I felt a bit sorry for him because he might have been too exhausted to think sensitively after asking everyone in the entire building their pronouns, to establish just who is a man and who is a woman, but then I remembered we gender criticals have to carry out genital inspections, and that's far more involving, especially when you've forgotten your Marigolds and your torch.

I don't have any skin in this game but he does come across as at least one sandwich short of a picnic.

To have a brain fart one must have a working brain. Alas that option is not available to this gentleman.
