I'm afraid I've been lazy and only had half an ear to previous discussions on policies and documents that don't use the term women where it would seem obvious that that would be the word you'd choose.

I know need to properly challenge a similar situation and wondered if there is any official guidance around language usage? I have googled and found articles in the Telegraph that state the NHS has made some moves but it's behind a paywall.

Grateful for any help and apologies for bein lazy!

Sex Matters are always good for guidance on this type of thing.

Might depend a bit what the context is - work/medical/school, etc.
