I thought that here would be the best place to ask... Can't find anything like this on safe schools alliance. Picture books etc.

About inclusion/ belonging etc. To teach children that we're all different etc.. but I DON'T want stonewall/ mermaids type material.

Any ideas?

A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo is a book about a gay rabbit owned by Mike Pence.
A bit dated (not that my kids knew who Mike pence was anyway), so possibly out of print, but quite funny.

lots of the best of this kind of stuff is more generally about difference and a bit allegorical. The overtly LGBT stuff tends to be very stonewally.

Oliver Jeffers the huey’s new jumper book is a good example. It’s about sameness and difference and how easily difference can become sameness. It’s funny and silly and a good way of talking about these issues.
