Despite the headlines the DeSantis administration has moved to revoke the license. An official in the governor’s office clarified after publication that the Hyatt has 21 days to dispute the action and will keep its license in the meantime.

The headlines always go for the most sensational angle. I wanted to make clear the reality.

Liquor licenses are a huge deal in North America. They are hard / expensive to get. If someone is selling a small grotty bar with a liquor license, the liquor license can be worth more than the building itself. It's easier to rebuild the bar than get a liquor license for a new building that didn't have one before.

Just don't do it in front of the kids and everything is fine. Why on earth the kids are the sticking point that must be included is just ridiculous.

The Hyatt chain is also owned and managed by the Pritzker family I believe.

I don't know the significance of that. Can you elaborate please?
