(Had a quick look and couldn't see that this had been posted already. Sorry if its a duplicate.)

Genspect are delighted to announce that we are hosting a webinar for Detransition Awareness Day, this year on 12th March, 6pm GMT.

We’re platforming detransitioners from across the globe, sharing their own stories and experiences with gender.

We are thrilled that our webinar last year went so well that we managed to put the money we raised from Detrans Awareness Day into launching our ‘Beyond Transition’ initiative. Over a hundred detransitioners have already benefited from the Beyond Transition service.

The detransitioner community is growing faster than ever, with unprecedented coverage in the news and media this last year, as more young people realise they received inadequate and inappropriate healthcare.

In our webinar detransitioners will speak out about what led to their transition, about what they’ve learned about the gender healthcare industry, and about what they believe doctors, therapists, and everyone else needs to know.

Not sure as the booking system is a bit odd but I think tickets are €25

(Totally off topic but have learnt how to type € - the unintended benefits of being on FWR!)

I've bought a ticket for this. The detransitioners get more of my sympathy than anyone else in this mess.

I wonder if it will recorded and made available later.

I hope it goes well. I am sure it will.

Lets us know?

Bought a ticket to support the event. And I'll attend if I can!

Love to all xx

Thanks for posting this!

@resister I agree... Please also spare a thought for the mothers still caught up in this as we helplessly watch our children hurtling towards self-destruction.

And the mothers who have been silenced and dismissed and insulted when we've tried to protect our children. What happened when TulipR / Ritchie Herron's mum tried to stand up for him with the professionals..

And the mothers faced with a choice between pretending that transition is all OK or losing contact with our children. Whether that's by our children's own decision or legally through courts.

This is a feminist thing. And it is a Mum thing too.

I'm watching this and it's fabulous. Such articulate speakers and really moving stories. Stella (the presenter) said it is (sadly) much bigger than last year and I wonder if we'll get an idea of how many people are listening. It's recording and I hope they make it available.

I watched it. Sad it is needed. Someone commented on the way the TRAs say " if you think you may be trans you are trans" then when they detransition " oh you weren't "true trans". "
Such inconsistency and hypocrisy

I can understand some people wanting to try and move away from identity politics and being a " detransitioner". They've done enough gender naval gazing. Time to look at what they can achieve in life.

And a Dad thing. I alternate between being distressed and angry, but if I say anything then that’s “making it all about me”, not being concerned about my child’s wellbeing. It would help a lot if Mums were listened to and respected as they deserve.

I missed the Webinar but have just bought and watched The Detransition Diaries. My heart goes out to all the families caught up in this; the vulnerable people who were sold a lie about transitioning and their parents, siblings and other family members who care deeply about them.

It is a positive film - the 3 young women have all moved forward with their lives. Also thinking of vulnerable young men like Richie Herron and Isaac (Isaac uncooked on Youtube).

It's going to be up on YouTube soon apparently

twelly · 12/03/2023 23:37

Just so sad - so many young people caught up in this mess.

MumOfYoungTransAdult · 13/03/2023 09:29

Good point @Transparent2 I feel some more letters to MPs coming on Smile There's still the conversion therapy bill.

The disrespect to parents who don't mind if our kids are boys or girls and do care about our kids' health and wellbeing is just shocking.

pantsforteaagain · 13/03/2023 10:22

Astounding some of the health problems these people are living with and some of them after relatively short periods of time on hormones (a couple of years). Stella kept highlighting just how brutal cross-sex hormones are on the body of the opposite sex. These people are so young and they have to live with these consequences for the rest of their lives. I had tears in my eyes at times. It good to hear that some of them are mobilising for legal actions. Power to them!

Jasmine's story was shocking. And Rachel's maybe more so. 3 strokes a hysterectomy and walking with a cane.
