An article by James Esses on the funeral of Darren Moore -a drag queen who was murdered in Cardiff city centre.
Although Moore had a prior history of convictions for child sexual abuse the Council closed off roads in central Cardiff for the funeral and news coverage has been very positive about him.

The poppers would have to do something fatal to him. If you're suggesting they might have caused a fatal asthma attack, that would have been apparent at autopsy from the condition of the lungs.

I don't know what impact poppers have on asthma, but they can cause heart arrhythmias in anyone, especially if mixed with alcohol.

I might normally hesitate to impugn the dead's sobriety, but when someone is found covered in dog semen, and the surviving witness testifies that he had sexual contact with a dog, it's more of a kindness to assume the presence of intoxicants of one kind or another.

We will have to see what the coroner concludes, but I wouldn't be surprised if the verdict is that Moore was taken ill due to a combination of substances consumed and the active night he had.

True but death from poppers is rare & sudden. The effect is very brief & any arrhythmia it triggered would be within minutes of inhalation. Maybe he woke up under his cardboard & thought he'd brace himself with a quick, fatal, sniff but I didn't think any poppers had been found with him.

The coroner's determination is out. Open verdict. And didn't accept the dog owner's story.

So are they ruling out karmic death by dog sperm just because nobody has researched it or am I misreading this bit (screenshot below)

Why would it have to be a reaction to the semen specifically? Don't people have life threatening allergic reactions to dog hair and dander?

ArabellaScott · 09/02/2026 09:02

'The coroner read out the cause of death as a result of "sudden death in a man with bronchial asthma in the cold who had consumed alcohol and in a temporal association with sexual activity including intercourse with a dog."'

Well, there's a tale for Drag Queen Storytime.

Absolutely grim.

BorgQueen · 09/02/2026 10:42

I seem to remember a Woman dying from a severe allergic reaction to dog semen while filming bestiality porn a few years ago so maybe it’s nature’s way of telling people not to sexually abuse dogs?

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 09/02/2026 12:01

I feel we have an answer to why the dog owner was permitted to be anonymous to give evidence.

Plenty of other unanswered questions remain. Such as whether it was the first time that man had taken that dog for a walk around the city centre late on a Saturday night or the early hours of Sunday morning, or whether it was a regular event in his social calendar.

Is this happening up and down the country? Should I be suspicious if I see someone with a dog ambling past nightclubs at 3am?

Probably.

Alpacajigsaw · 09/02/2026 12:46

Absolutely vile story. (Some) men really are just disgusting creatures aren’t they.

It will be another porn-driven proliferating aspect of life.

Oh I really wish I could unread parts of this thread 😭

I'm sorry if this seems like a crass question but would they train the dog to mount the man in these types of cases?

It's a pivotal question, in relation to the credibility of the witness. And unfortunately, the answer is yes.

The anonymity order might be because he's under investigation for some kind of animal abuse charge so he's being kept anon in order not to tip off associates &/or to avoid prejudicing any trial he may face later.

I would put money on that being the case.

Utterly. I still can’t forget the story of the man who dies being mounted by a stallion near Seattle. Was a common gay activity apparently. Just wtf.

What is unacceptable is how normalised this fetish kink damaging, damaged behaviour has become thanks to the hard of thinking embracing sex positivity ethos in which absolutely nothing must be shamed.

Exactly.

He had to be granted anonymity if there's to be any chance of a successful trial later.

GoldThumb · 10/02/2026 23:47

WTF have I just read 😳

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 13/02/2026 19:20

Disgusting.
Bring back kink shaming.

They held a vigil for him. Some of the people who attended will have been well meaning and compassionate. Any death is a tragedy but sometimes they really should take a moment.
