An article by James Esses on the funeral of Darren Moore -a drag queen who was murdered in Cardiff city centre.
Although Moore had a prior history of convictions for child sexual abuse the Council closed off roads in central Cardiff for the funeral and news coverage has been very positive about him.

Yes his 'story' is very odd.

lcakethereforeIam · 05/02/2026 17:57

There's another article with a quote from a dog expert who agrees that an untrained dog spontaneously having sex with a human is unlikely. It was a male dog, I'm not guessing, be warned reading the article

Drag queen spent time with three men on night of his death | Wales Online https://share.google/FhFAkQzqEPSKooORj

Sex with three men and one dog on one night. Welcome to Cardiff, home of the Senedd.

My absolute sympathy to his family, this must be dreadful for them.

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 05/02/2026 19:05

Cake, your article specifies that he left a nightclub at 4.51am, and that that was before he met the dog walker. The dog walker who said he just happened to be giving his dog his walk late because he'd had had a nap that day?

That's some nap, I must say. I've just had a nap myself, but I don't think I'll be out at 5am tonight...

And to think feminists were being blamed for this man being the victim of an assumed hate crime and then scolded for not assuming that drag and a Pride flag makes someone a good person.

Yes.

TempestTost · 05/02/2026 23:08

Wow, that is one of the most bizarre stories I have ever heard. It's like something off of some crazy CSI type show. Or a morality play.

It sounds like they really don't know what the cause of death was?

Indeed. Some posts on this thread have not aged well.

Bloody hell.

'The inquest was told how Mr Meah-Moore had an allergy to dogs, which might have caused some sensitivity, and potential allergic reaction, to being around them.'

😮

That's what the media say - "unable to conclusively confirm the cause of his death."

I wonder whether they've considered poppers. He had asthma and they're bad for those with asthma. Also difficult to detect shortly after use and popular amongst gay men.

As the Epstein files are showing us, the powerful men who run things seem unbothered by child rapists / paedophiles. They seem to give them a pass with their crimes being ignored.
Very depressing.

RoyalCorgi · 06/02/2026 09:43

I wonder why the dog owner hasn't been named. Best guess is that he's the subject of a criminal investigation. His account of what happened is the most implausible thing I've read since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor claimed he had a medical condition that meant he couldn't sweat.

lcakethereforeIam · 06/02/2026 10:10

Was Meah-Moore his original name? I keep reading it as 'Mi Amore'. Italian? Is that a coincidence?

The dog walker's anonymity is weird. Perhaps it's something he insisted on as a condition of testifying, but I hope he's going to be prosecuted.

Chersfrozenface · 06/02/2026 10:20

His original name, I gather, was Darren Moore. His father's surname is McKenzie.

Per Wales Online he had a husband. I suppose Meah-Moore could be a double barrelled name after their marriage.

SecretSquirrelLoo · 06/02/2026 11:50

It’s wicked prejudice to think that the drag scene might not mix well with toddler time at your local library. Just don’t forget that.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 06/02/2026 11:58

Utterly vile and disgusting. And we’re supposed to be happy with these men around children?!?!

Nearly 3 years later, the inquest is finally happening.

Caution, it makes grim reading.

I don't know if any previous posters are still around, but just in case they are, let me clarify in advance that sexual activity with animals is illegal, regardless of whether you're male or female. I don't want to read anything about there being nuance to the situation, or it being homophobic to condemn it.

Incidentally, I find it surprising that the witness at the inquest claims his dog (a male) spontaneously initiated sexual behaviour with a strange human on a walk, without any prior training. I have previously read that animal abusers with bestiality fetishes have to carefully train male dogs into performing such behaviour.

Thank you for finding the original thread and linking it up with the update. It's very instructive for people to see how much women were scolded and blamed for this man's death - it must have been evil TERFs/Transphobia.

No, no it wasn't.

And have his dog taken off him.

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 06/02/2026 16:25

The dog owner must be the same man who was originally taken into custody for questioning back in Jamuary 2023. Back then, a man was charged with manslaughter, but the police dropped all charges in July 2023. See the investigation update, as follows.

A police investigation into the sudden death of Darren Haydn Meah-Moore in Cardiff city centre has concluded.

Mr Meah-Moore, 39, from Newport was found in a lane close to Windsor Place and Park Lane in Cardiff city centre on Sunday, January 22.

A 50-year-old man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter has been released from police bail without charge.

Mr Moore’s family has been updated and family liaison officers continue to offer support.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with his death.

HM Coroner has been informed and the matter will progress through the coronial process.

Yes, I've always thought those people into 'pup-play' and furries and other kinds of kink pride are not people to whom I'd entrust a spaniel. Is there anything they won't sexualise?

The poppers would have to do something fatal to him. If you're suggesting they might have caused a fatal asthma attack, that would have been apparent at autopsy from the condition of the lungs.

Hoardasurass · 06/02/2026 20:24

That poor poor dog. Unfortunately I suspect it will have to be put to sleep after the abuse its suffered as I doubt thats something that it can be rehabilitated from

HildegardP · 06/02/2026 20:51

@Hoardasurass Doubtful, dogs are biddable creatures, a decent rescue should be able to rehab the animal. If a dog's been trained to be violent, that's difficult & sometimes too risky to undo but so long as the trainer keeps his/her pants on, this should be correctable.

Edited

Possible one of the other men encountered was the one arrested. Even if not the most likely scenario.

I think that other man may be pimping out the poor dog.

As the dog hasn’t bitten or attacked anyone there may not be grounds for putting him down.

I'm sure it's more nuanced than that. /sarcasm
