Why Would ‘Feminist’ Workshop for Age 6-7 Girls & Non Binary People Wish to Ensure Parents Can’t Hear What is Being Discussed?

This workshop is part of the WOW event at the South Bank Centre

Parents are not welcome and are told to sit behind a glass wall in sofas to view their children but will be unable to hear what they are being told by the hitherto unnamed workshop leader.

Does anyone else think this sounds ultra dodgy?

Same people who organised the DQ event where sexual jokes about the kids opening their legs were made apparently.

That looks totally un-dodgy. Nope, not one teeny little thing to be concerned about these.

Except those weird red flags hanging all over the place.

MoltenLasagne · 08/03/2023 18:20

Oh for heavens sake. On the plus side I can't imagine any parents that see that will want to take their kids!

StephanieSuperpowers · 08/03/2023 18:23

No, nobody talks to my 7 year old about anything I'm not allowed to hear. Nobody could think that's ok.

There's a 1000 post thread about cabababarave, that says different! :-/

Datun · 08/03/2023 18:38

Dear God, no. Surely there is some kind of regulation that won't allow this?

Promoting gender ideology as evidenced by the invitation for non-binary children, which is in direct opposition to feminism anyway, behind a glass wall so parents cant hear what's going on?

Ffs. Its so blatant.

Toseland · 08/03/2023 18:51

Under cover of teaching 'feminism' now?!

PuttingDownRoots · 08/03/2023 18:54

Apart from anything else... do they realise that 6yos van be rather nervous about going somewhere new without anyone they know??

Plus some only have the attention span of 7 milliseconds?

Tjey have more chance of meaningful discussion with the parents there.

RudsyFarmer · 08/03/2023 18:54

Why would a six or seven year old know anything at all about being non binary and want to discuss it privately? Totally bizarre. All mine wants to do is play football.

Er...

KatMcBundleFace · 08/03/2023 19:16

What? But, but you'd want to include parents in these types of discussions. The children are very young and may well feel uncomfortable without a parent or teacher.

This is very very odd.

Wouldn't the children wonder why their parents can see them but not hear them?

"Oh what we're talking about is secret, don't tell mummy" fuck off.

Photosymphysis · 08/03/2023 19:21

I have a 6-7 year old. I've read some of the feminist literature but wouldn't call myself 'well read'.

Ignoring the scarlet bunting; why on earth do 6-7 year olds need feminism?

For the love of bob just let them live in ignorance for a bit longer. Once you've read Invisible Women, you can't unsee it.

All 6-7 year olds need is normal class teachers, parents, club instructors to remind them that everyone can do everything, etc.

But I'm guessing this isn't really about feminism.

PatatiPatatras · 08/03/2023 21:35

Have they never heard of 'stranger danger'?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 08/03/2023 21:39

I despair. 6 - 7 year olds are girls or boys. Narcissistic adults have no business grooming children about faux identities - especially with a cloak of secrecy surrounding it.

MrGHardy · 08/03/2023 22:16

Everyone here knows why.

LakeTiticaca · 08/03/2023 22:42

No. Report this to the police child protection squad.

littlbrowndog · 08/03/2023 22:46

Why are they talking to 6 and 7 year old girls where their parents can’t hear

what is broin* hidden

littlbrowndog · 08/03/2023 22:46

Being

littlbrowndog · 08/03/2023 22:48

And what is a non binary 6 year old. FFFFFFFSSSS

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 08/03/2023 22:50

Mine were more interested Playmobil and Sylvanians at that age. Thankfully gender nonsense had hardly been invented then.

No way would they have attended a workshop which I wasn't allowed to hear. I hope it has been reported.

LemonSwan · 08/03/2023 22:51

Wow this is very bad

titchy · 08/03/2023 23:06

Maybe a MNer could self-identify as a 7 year old? Grin

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 08/03/2023 23:20

Could someone on twatter tag Baroness Nicholson to flag this to her?

creekingmillenial · 08/03/2023 23:22

Does the SBC have a safeguarding lead? I think this should be raised urgently. Of course parents shouldn’t be stopped from hearing what their children are being told.
