Manchester screening of Adult Human Female

Hey up everyone!

After a number of venues refusing to show the film, we're pleased to announce that there will be a public screening of Adult Human Female in Manchester on the 25th of March.

There will also be a panel/Q&A afterwards featuring the directors, myself (Rebekah Wershbale) and local women that have fallen foul of the gender borg in one way or another. Cathy Boardman, who is currently suing her old university employer for unfair dismissal over perceived transphobia will be speaking too, and she's dead entertaining. Worth the price of admission all by herself.

So, if you're in the north or fancy a northern holiday, come see the film and hang out with us! It's a really good primer too for fence sitters to get to grips with some of the basics so if ya know anyone that might benefit from learning about what we're up against bring them along or pass the link on.

Eventbrite? I thought they refused to sell tickets to Gender Critical events; unless Sarah Phillimore's lawsuit changed their tiny censorious minds!

There is no eventbrite policy re GC events. Many women's groups use it to advertise events.

However it is likely that the usual suspects target women / women's groups that have a hight profile and put in complaints and then some person acts on their own initiative to delete an event.

It would be good if you acknowledged that this film is in fact based on the original work of women who aren't given a voice in the film.

This appropriation by the usual suspects as being the mouthpiece we should all listen to is part of what undermines genuine grass roots organising.

You could very easily have done this by covering this originated and grew.

Look, I'm just in it. I didn't direct it and I didn't pick the title and I'm absolutely sick of all the squabbles about it.

It's useful for fence sitters and people new to the debate to learn about the issues. That's what I'm in it for.

And as far as grassroots organising goes, I've been doing it for years. I'm not undermining anyone.

Matt Walsh’s documentary is called ‘What is a Woman?’ The documentary OP is talking about is ‘Adult Human Female’ it’s right there in the thread title.

For the trolls on the board, the vast majority, if not all, of the women featured in the film are socialist feminists. So very far from Matt Walsh's nasty brand of politics.

Can I ask about the venue? I see it's 'to be announced' and understand why but I want to know vaguely if there's parking nearby or if it's city centre. I'll be coming alone so probably driving...

It's city centre, there'll be meetups before it's announced.

It will be city centre so excellent public transport links.

I really hate driving in cities so avoid whenever possible but there are car parks etc. for those who want to brave it.

There will also be a bar if that affects decision on whether to bring a car!
