I found it heartening/encouraging to see this article in today's Guardian about the importance of not erasing the reality of women's bodies in women's sports. This is the kind of article I would usually expect to see in the Observer or Times.

amp.theguardian.com/sport/2023/mar/07/lauren-fleshman-there-is-a-betrayal-of-womens-bodies-in-the-sports-system

There is also an article about Laura Bates that looks promising (haven't read it yet).

Is KV finally ready to push back against the likes of OJ and publish articles that actually address the needs of women and girls? I bloody well hope so...

I was encouraged by this article too, and yet I can't help feeling it's part of the weird sort of cognitive dissonance that's going on at the Guardian. On the one hand, they recognise women's bodies are different from men's, on the other they spend most of their time pretending that men can be women.

I also wonder if it's significant that this is in the sports section - their sports writer Sean Ingle has been one of the few journalists at the paper to push back against trans ideology.

Yes, you're right, @RoyalCorgi, the Guardian still seems to be behind the captured wall. And yet articles like these do indicate a few chinks in the brickwork I think.

The Laura Bates article is also encouraging as it's in the Women section -- so often in the Guardian I click on that section and see nothing about the serious concerns we face. Cognitive dissonance as you say.

I thought the same Corgi, I don’t know how they can’t see the cognitive dissonance smacking them in the face

I also don’t know how John Harris didn’t ask Laura bates if the huge increase in teenage girls identifying as boys or NB might just have it’s roots in the multiple issues around porn, misogyny & assault she describes. I kept waiting to read the question but nothing!

I don't know enough about John Harris to know whether he asked the question and the response was edited out (entirely possible under the current editorship?) or if he didn't ask the question at all. It's a good point, @Theeyeballsinthesky.

I just keep thinking that they CAN'T not see it -- and yet, they remain blinkered.

I doubt doubt they'll find a way to report on this stuff whilst still playing the twaw line

Plenty seem to be able to do all sorts of Jedi mind tricks and puke rainbows and glitter on demand when needed.
