Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Continuing to love the work of academics I admire who have gone for gender ideology

I'm at an online event discussing left feminisms, and Nancy Fraser is one of the speakers. I admire her so much, but she seems all in on apparent transphobia. Does anyone else have to pick through the work of people they admire, to continue to learn from the 'good' bits, but look past their inability to see the problems gender ideology causes?

No. Anyone who buys into that anti-scientific crap is not an academic I could ever admire.

Sure, that's normal I think...I just assume people haven't really looked into it.

But Nancy Fraser has looked into .... everything! She MUST know that there are some issues. How can she not?

What does she say about it?

I think it's important to keep listening. You don't know what you're missing out on. It's surely normal not to agree on everything a thinker says.

Yes. Cas Mudde, Dutch poli sci guy who's done some very important work on right wing populism. I can see where he's coming from - he's teaching in the southern US where all the hardcore crazies are, de Santis et al. He's also done plenty of work on Orban's Hungary where "gender ideology" is basically synonymous with "feminazis".

Much less sympathy with anyone actually working on feminist theory, they really ought to know better!
