”Slipped”… yeah right. I’d love to have heard the prosecutor’s tone when he said that in court.

At least, since his fellow sexual abuser caused the recent change in rules, he won’t be put straight into the female estate in Scotland. But he would have been just a few weeks ago, and it’s not clear from the article as to how his crime has been recorded - as a male or ‘female’ statistic?

I really hope there’s none of the ‘mitigating’ nonsense trotted out in court about how his transition’s made him vulnerable.

Yes. I’ve been trying to work that out.

I think the male population of Scotland is about 2.7 million - of course we don’t have accurate up to date figures yet because they screwed up their census & it won’t be out until next year.

It’s possible there’s a higher percentage of TW there than in England & Wales - more favourable conditions? Moving there in the hope of self-ID and/or getting into politics?

But in E&W it’s 0.1%, I believe, with a 5 times higher likelihood of being currently incarcerated for serious sexual offences.

I’m not clever enough to do the sums... but the rate does seem awfully high in Scotland.

Checked my figures: in E&W it’s 0.16% of males.

If it’s the same rate in Scotland - which is by no means a given of course - I think that means there’d be around 4320 TW.
