Everybody else blocked on Twitter by Women's March?

Saw a few people tweeting about this and went to check. Lo and behold, I am blocked despite never interacting with them or interacting with anyone who mentioned then. How pathetic. Won't change the world if you're so thin-skinned.

(If you're on Twitter the handle is @ womensmarch )

Yes, also blocked. I'm much more of a liker and follower than a tweeter, so it's probably on those grounds.

Oh snap!

Not blocked but do not go on Twitter much and I use a different persona and no recognisable tages so not recognisable as a mumsnetter or a Terf (though I am both and make comments that are GC all the time - never blocked by anyone). Retired so not bothered by being blocked as a Terf or of disapproval of opinions (almost everyone I know is GC, male and female, btw, even DS who used to be quite TWAW).

600 000 followers but only 168 likes on that WM tweet. Btw, I never liked the leadership of the WM and think that most mainstream feminist organisations, including the ones in my country, Singapore, are completely and utterly captured by trans ideology. That they are blocking women is no surprise.

I am totally GC on twitter but not important enough to be blocked. Maybe the GC bot does not scan accounts based in Asia?

maudesvagina · 21/02/2023 09:21

I'm blocked

Shortpoet · 21/02/2023 09:24

Im blocked by them, and H from Steps too. Never interacted with them.
Im a lurker and a liker on Twitter, rather than a poster.

When you have time on your hands have a look at their board and its members (I did this a few months ago and the board may have changed a little, of course).

It's now a mixed sex group and the male member appears to be only concerned about transwomen.

Also interesting to compare the people on that board to how many people in the same demographic group there are in the US, to see how representative the board might be.

It's not representative at all in the sense that groups which might be 0.2% or less of the population in the US are strongly represented (nonbinary and transwomen at least), while larger demographic groups have a smaller number of people on that board.

Women's March has had transparency problems about their funding, who it goes to etc. for some time. The central organisation gives no funding to the local ones.

They are also in the business of erasing the female sex from all language and use the kind of intersectionality where sex-based oppression can only be discussed in euphemistic terms as if nobody knows who it is who needs abortions.

I'm blocked. Pretty sure they did it last year when I took the piss out of the logo.

Oh yeah, forgot all about that! The logo that they definitely haven't added a masculine profile to! Good times...

Even H from Steps hasn't sodding blocked me yet.

Nor me! Perhaps I should finally joint Twatter and see if he does...

I’m blocked but I can see them from my sock account. No idea who they are, I’ve never heard of them so I shan’t be weeping into my gin.
