I was at a council hustings in East Lothian last year where a woman asked a question about single sex toilets in schools. The Green candidate (who did get in) visibly bristled and demanded to know why that question was being asked at a voluntary sector hustings. It's good to see this coming out in the open now. It is a real and legitimate issue.

I think a good start would be a clear definition of "transgender person".

Thank goodness we are hearing a few more voices speaking sense. I hope the spell has been broken in Scotland.

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with what he has said, will anyone actually take any notice of him?
Until someone in Labour/SNP/Greens says this, I can’t see any change being made away from the “trans cult”

I'm glad he has spoken out about this. The slavish adherence by some people has been disconcerting.

It's good to have men speaking out about this, rather than only women.

He's a member of a fringe Indy cult party. Not main stream so unlikely to cut through.

He's been speaking out for a while. He was Justice Secretary in the Scottish Parliament for several years, so I think he has a bit more authority on this subject among ordinary people and sane politicans, maybe even the media, than just any random MP. But his having defected from the SNP to Alba is also a very convenient way for people who don't want to listen (and are desperate that others don't listen) to smear the man in order to bury the message.

That's the dream.
