Gender ideology really is a hill that politicians go and die on. Wonder if kier and mark drakeford are watching carefully.

Seeingadistance · 15/02/2023 11:53

What was the police question? I’m abroad just now - receiving this joy from afar and via MN!

ILikeDungs · 15/02/2023 11:54

ArabellaScott · 15/02/2023 11:51

Wow, the police question at the end! Shock

I missed that, what was the question?

ArabellaScott · 15/02/2023 11:55

I can't rewind! Someone asked if she would be co operating with police, and she cut him off and snapped that she wouldn't comment on a live police investigation, and fucked off.

ArabellaScott · 15/02/2023 11:55

I presume that was in relation to the fraud investigation.

Lest we forget eh Nicola:

Scotland has one of the highest drug death rates in the developed world. With 1,330 drug misuse deaths in 2021[2], this represents a marginal decrease on the record high of 2020 and still 4.6 times as many deaths compared with 2000.

An independent review by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, a Paris-based agency, found the Scottish education system had failed to keep pace with the latest best practice and had no long-term strategies or vision.

Scotland has the worst health inequalities in western and central Europe:
The gap in life expectancy between the most and least deprived areas in Scotland is roughly 13 years for males and 10 years for females
The gap in healthy life expectancy (the number of years lived in good health) is even greater - roughly 23 years for males and 24 years for females

It is estimated that 19% of Scotland’s population (1.03 million people each year) were living in relative poverty after housing costs in 2017-20.

This is shocking, set out in one place. And so at odds with the picture they paint of a Northern Utopia, when compared with nasty, racist, brexity England which funds them and where the ideological differences are not quite as large as they would like them to be.

The Scottish Greens have made a statement

twitter.com/scottishgreens/status/1625823679358595073?t=LO06iW2m5prrfXql9vUgPQ&s=19

Again no mention of "the issues" Hmm

Maybe the whole GRR farce will be quietly dropped now?

TightFistedWozerk · 15/02/2023 10:04

Blimey.

Who would want such a poisoned chalice?

There was a poll the other day. Out of the options none of them got more than 7%

I can rewind on the iPlayer app! The mask slipped right at the end! Priceless.

ResisterRex · 15/02/2023 12:02

Missed it too. Was it this re the police?

www.heraldscotland.com/politics/23315583.sturgeon-pressure-police-step-snp-fraud-probe/

"NICOLA Sturgeon is facing more questions over the SNP’s finances as police step up their investigation into a potential fundraising fraud

After preliminary contacts when the probe began 18 months ago, Police Scotland have started to contact key witnesses about taking more substantive statements.
One senior figure told the Herald on Sunday they expected to be interviewed imminently as 'Operation Branchform' shifts gear.
Launched in July 2021, it is looking at whether funds raised specifically for an “independence campaign” were improperly spent by the SNP on other things."

I think it's much more likely they're hoping the fuss will die down, the media and public will move on to other things and forget about it and they can quietly get their way.

I don't think that's realistic, but then the Greens and realism parted company some considerable time ago.

Pixiedust1234 · 15/02/2023 12:02

I'm surprised the Teflon Queen has decided to let go without being pushed. It won't be about the trans issue that made her quit, it will be about money. Or more importantly a certain money trail that she doesn't want uncovering. Its always fucking money.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 15/02/2023 12:03

I think she was pushed by the party. The subtext felt to me that she wanted to turn the next GE into a de facto independence vote but the party doesn’t agree. It’s too risky. If independence isn’t popular the party loses out. If the party isn’t popular (for a multitude of reasons) then any list of the share of the vote can be argued as a sign independence isn’t popular.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 15/02/2023 12:03

*loss not list

scratchedbymycat · 15/02/2023 12:03

I think The Individual needs to be updated to 'The individuals' to be inclusive of the four murderers revealed today to be in the female estate too. It's only fair. Inclusion is important.

littlbrowndog · 15/02/2023 12:04

She was asked I think if she would be interviewed by the police on the financial stuff

scratchedbymycat · 15/02/2023 12:05

Hubris and loss of touch with reality.

Oh I really really hope so. Politicians need to start to listen to the majority of the electorate rather than pressure groups.

OMG12 · 15/02/2023 12:19

Drakefords a bit luckier than the other two in that there are no women's prisons in Wales, so he has a bit more room for luxury beliefs without that banana skin.

ArabellaScott · 15/02/2023 12:25

I'm afraid the gender stuff is probably not the main problem.

As shown by Sturgeon's swift cutting-off of the question about the police investigation.

It'll be money.
