Flipping through a real hard copy newspaper at a relative's house and found the attached article (yesterday's telegraph)
Thought it was a valid and interesting point that affects TERF attitudes but also anyone who just doesn't run with the herd and is penalised for it.

It just gets worse and worse. There is no longer any such thing as a private conversation.

Who was the journalist, @Januaryisthelongestyear? They say they are off to pastures new, but not where those pastures may be.

We seem to be living in Orwell's 1984. Orwell thought it would be fascists or communists who brought about his dystopia. Whoever would have expected it to be liberals?!

Last year, I received an email from my old university informing me they were going to 'de-colonize' the library. I mean, how sinister can you get? Presumably, they're going to throw out classics that don't tick the right boxes, and replace them with mediocre books that do.

'Cancelling' people, 'de-colonizing' universities, controlling language, controlling thought, cutting words out of books, editing old TV shows, refusing to screen old films, sacking people, re-writing and distorting history...terrifying. Pol Pot instituted 'Year Zero' in Cambodia. It feels like we're doing the same in Britain.

Been that way for decades. In the 90s, my sister completed all the course work for her degree and refused to do 1 change to her philosophy dissertation because of a difference in opinion….and that was it. Three years down the pan. No degree.
