Anyone watching? I have popped in to visit my Nan and the football is on. They got some huge MTF trans person who is a referee to preach a by the numbers sermon on how it's just like the 80s and gay rights and how this person should be able to do whatever they like.

You missed the point and you didn't clock how offensive to LGB people and just plain wrong the person shooting his mouth off was.

Requiring half the population to give up some rights and tell lies in order that male people can be allowed to access women's single-sex and lesbian-only spaces isn't remotely comparable to giving LGB people the same rights as other citizens. When LGB people were allowed to have civil partnerships in order to secure property and avoid IHT no one else had to give up any rights. When LGB people were extended the same rights as heterosexuals regarding goods and services no one lost out out. There is no comparison.

I made it clear that this person delivered a pious sermon about how opposing the trans political agenda was like opposing gay rights.

I would be blunter, but I fear it would put me outside talk guidelines.

That was a depressing spectacle - you can see how lacking in any enjoyment it was for the women's team. It wasn't just the disparity in strength (although there was a nice moment where a trans player easily held a woman at arms-length with no effort, stopping her tackling him at all) but it demonstrates really clearly the difference between a sex that was trained in football as soon as they could walk, versus one that had to fight for the opportunity to play at all.

The trans players are effortlessly passing the ball around because they've played since earliest childhood. You can also see the women holding back from tackling them because they know they are more likely to get injured in that exchange.

Collecting my kids from a local parks football game this morning I couldn't help but notice the 11 a side 'women's' game taking place on a neighbouring pitch. my eyesight isn't great over long distance but the lumbering six foot something frankenstein's monster playing in goal for one the teams was unmistakeably a bewigged man in late middle age.

I didn't look very carefully at all at the other players but did notice that this male keeper's team had a couple of very blatantly female subs who presumably ended up getting a very limited number of minutes compared to their male team mate. Very obvious conflict here between 'inclusivity' and female participation in sport.

Just watched that item back on iPlayer.

Those players certainly missed out (though in fairness no-one wants to play goal :-)) but the effect on the players on the pitch is even more insidious. It will be enormously harder to score against a taller male with a longer arm reach, larger hands, quicker reactions and a lifetime of experience behind them. Many male goalies can actually touch the top bar, which is impossible for women. Most attackers will also back off when going one-on-one with a male goalie, as that is particularly high risk for injury at the best of times.

Their goal kick will probably be twice as far as that delivered by a less well-trained, physically weaker female, putting their attacking team at a massive advantage. I would also very much not want to head a male goalie's kick, so defensively the opposition will also be at a disadvantage.

looks like trouble in paradise for this trans team, who usually win every game by about one million goals to nil. opponents seemingly fine with the players identifying as whatever sex they please but drew the line at their seemingly identifying as rank beginners despite considerable experience.

First time I’ve seen actual footage of any length of TRUK UK playing. How utterly demotivating must it have been for the Girls Aloud team playing TRUK United and losing 15-1?? That footage was depressing - the transwomen were absolute hulks compared to the women - the sheer physicality of the transwomen, leg length, height, body mass etc… just looked intimidating. Yes the ref one was overweight but obviously had decades of playing behind them compared to those young women. Surely not the kind of opposition any young woman’s team expected to play. Where was the enjoyment or fairness in that? How can those transwomen getting any sense of satisfaction playing with such a physical advantage. They should be embarrassed.

The league TRUK seem to have been playing in styled itself as a beginner league for women and non-binary people and some other teams also seem to have fielded transwomen players, so I'm not sure their accusations of it not being inclusive hold much water.
Having had a quick look at a few of the league games on their Youtube channel I can't say any of the teams exactly look like a beginners, so not sure how they draw the line on that one!

I like the fact that they offer "the rest of our team were trans masc" in mitigation for the unfairness of the matchup, acknowledging the relevance of biological sex surely goes against the entire premise of the club, namely TWAW.
