From the Daily Express:

www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/politics/nicola-sturgeon-told-new-trans-29184285

"The Scottish Conservatives have called the unredacted report into the scandal a "whitewash" because it reveals that the SPS has changed its policy on trans prisoners so that they will “initially” be housed in a prison corresponding with their sex at birth.

Scottish Conservative shadow community safety minister Russell Findlay MSP said: “After a series of embarrassing and chaotic U-turns, Nicola Sturgeon still hasn’t got this right.
“The SNP are making it up as they go along and their new policy is a blatant con since it only addressed where criminals will initially be placed. It leaves open the possibility that they could still then be transferred to a women’s prison."

I thought it was too good to be true!

They're so stupid, they thought they could con us by using the word 'initially' and we'd go away.

Needmoresleep · 10/02/2023 22:07

Presumably when Nicola's legislation comes into effect, trans prisoners will be able to use the courts to get a transfer to the female estate.

Probablymagrat · 10/02/2023 22:10

Ah...but there will be a risk assessment, so thats fine.

NS really isn't getting it. Surely she can't think that every government 'inclusion' policy won't be subject to scrutiny now. The world is watching but she seems oblivious.

Thank god Russell Findlay isn't letting her get away with it.

Yes Russell Findlay is right. Good on him and thank you.
