" I'm Just A Normal, Average Woman! "

As said by one of those fabulous ladies that turned up to the meet in Glasgow on Sunday.

Well actually pet, no, you most certainly aren't the normal, average type, you and the other participants, the women that wandered along alone, or in groups just to listen, Jean from Aberdeen, none of you are the normal average.
You're all far beyond that! You ARE stunning and brave. You ARE brave for turning up, despite knowing there'd be a pack of mentalists there, trying to intimidate and frighten you, maybe even physically attack you if given opportunity. Especially since we were all under the impression that over 1000 furries would also be turning up to join the protest. Did anyone find out where they all went yet btw? They can't all have fitted into Forbidden Planet at the same time, surely? lol
You ARE brave, because time and time again, we hear the stories of women whose trauma/s i'm sure they'd rather forget, as they relive the most painful events in their lives to act as warnings to other women and families. The hurt that those women feel telling their stories is palpable, even for those of us watching at home. You ARE brave!!!
You ARE brave because even though you've faced the intimidation of the mentalists, suffered the trauma of reliving torment, you then have to risk losing your jobs for doing nothing more than telling the truth! What a very sad indictment of our times! Very sad indeed!

Normal and average? No you most definitely are not! You are very special and very brave and you should be very proud of yourselves!
Thank you all for your bravery, you rock!

Those women who spoke were incredible, several times I was close to tears.

We were just 4 randomers who met online and drove together over 800 miles to be there.

We met women from Kent, London, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Scottish islands.

We left our children and our partners, our parents and our pets to be there, to be heard and to say ENOUGH!!!!

Women will not wheesht!

Wonderful ❤️ thank you all, you definitely not-average women

Witchinbitchinalang · 06/02/2023 04:53

Well done and hats off to all the women who went to Glasgow today. I seen the photos and footage. I was working today but with you in spirit. The cowardly wee shites may have tried to scare you but they won't win. Can I also say that REAL anti fascists were attending a counter protest in Glasgow today against REAL fascist nasty pieces of work, elsewhere in the city, who were making threats to harm refugees. Those who are genuinely anti fascist do not support self id nor do they attack women or try and silence them. Douglas is not an anti fascist.

Boiledbeetle · 07/02/2023 22:46

I'll second your thoughts OP. The women who attend these things, let their face and voice be seen, and especially those that speak have my utmost respect.

These women are stunning and brave. Men who claim to be women and enter women's spaces aren't!

Wish there was a like button on here.
Video made me cry, jean from Aberdeen and the autistic woman especially but all the women I've seen speak were brilliant, real heart, love and fury, in stark contrast to the counter protest.
When is the next one? I'd love to be there.

This is lovely OP. I wasn't able to go and only caught snippets on the day, but I listened through this evening. Well done everyone - this is what the right side of history looks like
