I thought it might be nice to have a different topic for one thread.
This is the most absurd story I have seen in a very long time.

Well he sounds like a catch 🤔

WomenShouldStillWinWomensSports · 02/02/2023 15:19

Hidden away around paragraph 25:
A Singapore High Court listing says the case is scheduled for February 9.
He can sue for any made up amount he likes but it doesn't mean he'll get it. He's already had his case thrown out once.
It's clearly a manipulative PR stunt on his part to shame her by releasing this to the international media though.
Also very telling that she's only countersuing him for £900.

guinnessguzzler · 02/02/2023 15:20

Wow.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 02/02/2023 15:21

Creepy fucker who won't be told no by a woman.
This is scary, stalker obsession. No wonder she had to get security cameras etc. His behaviour keeps escalating.

FOJN · 02/02/2023 15:22

The fact that there are lawyers willing to take such cases chills me to the bone.

The poor woman, she is being stalked and harassed, she needs a restraining order to keep this man away from her.

WomenShouldStillWinWomensSports · 02/02/2023 15:25

Oh Jesus, I read them both before the penny dropped that it's the same man in both cases. Wow.

WomenShouldStillWinWomensSports · 02/02/2023 15:27

*both of the top two. The bottom link is a different bloke, I remember that one made me roll my eyes.

Soubriquet · 02/02/2023 15:28

It’s the ultimate “nice guy”

How fucking dare he though. He isn’t entitled to a relationship just because she’s a woman and was his friend.

CruCru · 02/02/2023 15:38

The thing is, it’s actually quite embarrassing to be keen on someone and have them not be interested. Aside from the mental-ness of bringing this to court, doesn’t it just prolong the embarrassment?

I don’t know anything about the courts in Singapore but if she says “I am not interested in this man, I never want to have sex with him and now I’m frightened of him” then there’s no case to answer.

mirax · 02/02/2023 16:20

The judge was quite scathing about the merits of this loser's case and he a laughing stock here in Singapore. He isnt some hotshot CEO either but a fraudster whose business is the subject of many complaints. Everyone is looking forward to the Feb 9 ruling. The judges here do not mince their words.

Boiledbeetle · 02/02/2023 17:15

So basically, go out with me or I'll fuck over every part of your life you bitch

Hmmm he sounds lush!

nepeta · 02/02/2023 17:41

This is a rather extreme example of the feelings of entitlement to sex quite a few men seem to have.

It's also what is behind the incel movement. When I visited some of the sites (not recommended for the faint of heart) I found out that not only do the men posting there rant and rave at the female sex and the governments for not providing them with a girlfriend/sexual receptacle on demand, but that this particular sexual resource should be of extremely high quality.

Others there are deeply troubled and lonely men who should be getting therapy and not reinforcement in their disorder.

But the real source, ultimately, is at least partly in that widespread view that sex is something women have and should dole out on demand to men when told to do so.

BoredOfThisMansWorld · 02/02/2023 18:07

I don't think this is a different topic at all, op.

It is very similar to incels, who share much thought with modern trans activism. Both of which are scary and entitled men's rights movements, worryingly linked to terrorism through comorbidity with domestic violence and use of terrorist tactics to stifle speech, prevent meetings and instill fear in a particular group of people.

We're going to keep getting these men until we radically dismantle gender stereotypes and bring up our boys differently, in my opinion. We need to stop promoting the objectification and subjugation of women across society. But this requires feminist thought. And sadly there's been a huge effort to keep feminist thought away from education, politics and the public sphere. ( #sex work is work, #keep Mumsnet out of politics, etc etc

HashtagShitShop · 02/02/2023 18:42

Telling that he's suing for millions for hurt feelings.....

and she's put in a counterclaim for counselling and actual protection (security measures and CCTV etc) she had to do BECAUSE of him.

I hope she gets handed what he's asking for and the judge financially screws him.

BellaAmorosa · 02/02/2023 19:38

Poor, poor woman. The STRESS!

I agree. All this comes from the same place - seeing female humans are partially-sentient support bipeds for “actual people” (aka men).

This reminds me of the famous Somerset case where an American slave owner brought his slave to London only to find that the slave ran away. The slave owner brought the case to court only to be told that it was not legal to own people in England. Somebody needs to tell exactly that this scumbag.

The judge already ordered him to pay costs for the magistrate's complaint and they are relatively high for that level, so a message is being sent. High Court costs and punitive damages will be prohibitive. This man's business failed to deliver services paid for and is the subject of many police reports. It is a given he is going to be humiliated and bankrupted, so for once, a manipulative bastard is going to get what he deserves. All wrought by his own stupidity.

Delphinium20 · 03/02/2023 15:18

Woman hate is as universal as men's entitlement.
