A really good honest piece on the current reporting debacle over the trans "debate"

AFAIK, he's a member of the SDP who have been pretty consistent on their trans stance.

ElephantSlide · 03/02/2023 01:18

Can someone please summarise? TIA

FictionalCharacter · 03/02/2023 01:22

Thank you @Thelnebriati

The article is basically the things women are not allowed to say - at least not without getting cancelled - about prisons and sports, and about a society that demands we say ''2+2=5 except when it doesn't''. He says them less kindly than we might.

Rod Liddle is not a feminist ally, but has been very vocal about this
issue. He has publicly stated that it has been pushed under a Conservative govt;

"It's under the Conservative government that pro-trans propaganda has been piped into kids ears...they've done nothing to stop it."

There have been some lively discussions about his writing;

Thank you very much Flowers

That was excoriating! He's gone at it like a sandblaster!

"In other words, it is all a lie. A transparent and obvious lie. And yet almost everyone in a position of authority or who – like Sir Keir Starmer – wishes to be in a position of authority perpetuates it. Knowing that it is a lie."

ComeTheSpringLobelia · 03/02/2023 13:37

Good article. And I like the final para about pronouns. Very much.

ShangPie · 03/02/2023 20:20

The fox - chicken analogy is very clear and very cutting. Thanks for sharing (especially the 12ft.io link!)

Was it Rod Liddle who previously described Mermaids as Frankenstein's Castle?

Feels like a long time ago.
