This is hard to watch without being angry (in sympathy with Riley) but I'm so glad she had the courage to speak up against women having to compete against trans identified male athletes. It must be even harder to speak up about this in the US than the U.K.

Requiring women to strip naked in front of a man, against the woman’s wishes, is incompatible with every piece of legislation on human rights that exists.

It is incompatible with the customs of every culture in the world, and has been so for as long as recorded history exists.

It is against every religion there is.

And yet it is happening, not just in elite sport, but in schools and prisons around this country and others.

Why?

To bolster the fragile egos of a few bullies?

What would have been so indescribably terrible for Lia Thomas about changing in the men’s facilities, as Lia had been so happily doing for many years?

This is not and has never ben about ‘trans rights’ this is a sustained and remarkably well-funded attack on women’s bodily automomy, physical safety, and freedom of speech.

Not just the seeing of a male being lauded and indulged over the genuine athletic efforts of females, but the being thrown into a situation of undressing in front of a naked male watching them.

I just saw an abused woman in tears, re tell her story in an attempt to get people to manage even a crumb of the compassion they lavish upon the males committing these abuses and feeling entirely righteous and entitled to do so.

Forcing women to strip naked in front of men lest they lose their livelihood or their trophies or their job, isn't just criminal, it's inhumane.

Lia Thomas and every single man and woman involved in the promotion of this should be prosecuted and sent to prison.

And all Thomas's female records should be expunged and the women restored their rightful positions, and compensated.

But that will never, ever make up for this disgusting and shameful act of cruelty directed towards women who should have be lauded and celebrated for their extraordinary athletic prowess by their own country.
