Labour - Self ID and its election manifesto

Apparently Labour is in the throes of shaping its election manifesto. See amp.theguardian.com/politics/2023/jan/30/keir-starmer-labour-left-face-off-manifesto-plans
We all know the pressure KS will be under from the Momentum bros to go with a version of Self ID. I think we should all write to our Labour MPs now to set out why Self ID is so dangerous to women and girls not just in prisons (I imagine that penny has dropped) but also in schools, hospitals, rape centres, women’s sports. Time to apply pressure ourselves and explain what we will and will not vote for.

Wrote to mine. Apparently we should take the heat out of the debate and the Labour created Equality Act will protect everyone. And the 20 year old Gender recognition Act must be updated.
Sturgeon said shit like that in the SNP manifesto and look where it got her.
I will not be kind to paedophiles and rapists. And I will not be kind to those who create loopholes for them to access women in a vulnerable situation.

The basic premise should be that women deserve single sex spaces.

It isn't about the criminals who hide wherever possible but about how the GRA plays with single sex spaces. The current single sex exemptions are not sufficient if they are policed by assessments instead of sex. organisations are struggling to maintain their single sex status. Girl guide, rape centers, dv units, awards, sports and prisons are all choosing "risk assessment" instead of standing by their single sex status.

Women's single sex exemptions should not be open to risk assessments. This is not "minority report"

Yes. Single sex spaces exist because some men are violent/will behave badly and we don’t know which ones (it’s not just the convicted rapists Nicola). At a more basic level, single sex spaces are so valuable to women because we can avoid the male gaze/constant judgment and men “taking up all the oxygen in the room” in social and work scenarios.

Writing to your MP is a great idea.

Also if you are up for a fight join/rejoin Labour contribute as a member to manifesto and reinforce Labour Women's Declaration and Lesbian Labour. The stupid ploy of Scottish Labour in voting for the bill and ignoring the motions of the Scottish Women's Conference on GRA bill backfired and the TRAs in Labour are backpedalling furiously. More and more people in Labour are realising that even if they don't care about women's rights that the TRA cause is so backward it is going to implode eventually. We need to make sure women's rights are fully recognised in next manifesto and just turning up is enough to scare some TRAs out of the party.

Gender Crits are on the offensive in Labour, Lib Dems, Greens and the SNP. We are taking the parties back ... all of them. Or alternatively join the Tories whatever suits. Get out there make your voice heard now is the time we really move forward.
