I’m in an area in the US that’s not particularly progressive so rarely see bathrooms that are not male or female labeled.
I was in a large city recently in my state, and one bar had bathrooms that were a free for all. It made me particularly uncomfortable to share a bathroom with men who were drinking. It was down a dark scary hall way with a street exit, too. How easy someone could be whisked away.
Today I was in a restaurant that had two single bathrooms. One labeled women and the other, with a urinal and toilet labeled both. Likely done a long time ago because it’s primarily patronized by women. But could this be a way for businesses to keep women safe and still avoid criticism and cancellation?
