India Willoughby: I am more of a woman than JK Rowling will ever be

India has stated this on Twitter.

Doesn't it tell us a lot about how genderism rests on social stereotypes? How is India 'more of a woman' than someone born female?

I don't know enough about those examples to comment properly, will go and read up on them.
If they're like you say though, I completely agree with you that they're awful

India also seems to have a thing about Kemi Badenoch, a woman in the cabinet. Can't imagine what it is about Kemi that means she gets targeted by India.

Oh @RedAndBlueStripedGolfingUmbrella

Of course I didn’t believe there’s a trans allowance.

Bless.

See, I read that as her putting the words black and woman together not to be racist, but to make a point.
As in people put trans and woman together.
Saying that it's disgusting to put the words black and woman together (which it is)
And as in why can people see that but not when people do it to trans women?

Tampons in ears?

Hmm. I get that. More chance of them fulfilling their ‘full potential’ with natural fluids there than anywhere else they could go.

JKR is amazing. IW, I hope, will get help. I think there is a 'trans allowance'. The batshit, violent and vile things they or, usually, their supporters say, tweet and do. That they rarely get called on. The way the bar is set so they get away with death and rape threats. All the other crap. That's the 'trans allowance'.

Yes, I guessed you made excuses for it.

Trans is a prefix. Black is an adjective. HTH.

Because a woman is a woman and can also be black, hence black space woman

A transwoman is a man they are not a woman who is also trans. So no space. They will never be a woman so they can't use it as a separate word. I will accept them calling themselves transwomen as that signifies that they are actually men not women. Which is correct because a man can never be a woman

DarkDayforMN · 23/01/2023 17:10

I really can't stomach the way these activists focus on one race of women in particular to deny that they are women in the same way as every other adult human female. It's disgusting.

And you'd think even the most dyed in the wool rabid transactivist would be able to concede that adult human females of any race are women in exactly the same way as each other, while "trans women are women" in a way that's maybe just a teensy bit different. But apparently acknowledging that would be too much grace for them to display, they've got to go balls out racist every time.

Needmoresleep · 23/01/2023 17:12

Some men really seem to have a problem with articulate intelligent women. They seem to feel threatened. This seems to also apply to some transwomen

So JKR is not feminine enough. Ergo feminine men/transwomen do woman if better. And implicit is that if women are inferior and should their place, the same applies to a greater degree to black women.

The misogyny and racism are clear. JKR and Kemi are some way apart politically, but as women they stand with us.

Because what you are requiring there is that women give validity to the pretense that a male can be a woman by a trick of language, and coercing with the 'be kind' (and don't be disgusting) bit.

A transwoman is a male who prefers to be named and treated as a woman. I do not hold the belief that they are in any way a subset of women, they are a subset of men and that is fine.

There are limits as to how far the pretense that some people would prefer in order to protect the feelings of TW can be taken for their benefit without entering into misogyny and oppression of women. The line was very much left far behind this weekend. I will not collude in this kind of thing any longer. Nor co operate with demands for respect and kindness from a group of males that emphatically do not reciprocate any kindness or respect to women, but in some cases bear signs advocating their rape and murder.

Yeah you never see them use whitewoman, disabledwoman straightwoman asianwoman, frenchwoman, as comparator to us insisting that men are not women and therefore do not get a space and are transwomen.

So
Black woman
white woman
disabled woman
Straight woman
Asian woman
French woman

All women

transwoman

All men

That's the difference.

I've never seen this before and not really seen India live before but I'm sorry - every inch of my brain was saying "that person is male". Their walk, their height, their VOICE!!! Their anger, their mannerisms - reality is reality.

Like the Aussie person yelling in a shop -
“ It’s Ma’am!” While proceeding to kick and punch the displays in the shop. ( Widespread on social media and news)

So any comment on IW's antisemitism? Calling a black woman a "blackwoman" and saying she owed her career to positive discrimination?

What did you think when Jane Fae, a prominent transwoman who has been given a media platform, mocked a young mixed race woman for her skin colour, and accused her of having "bad self-tan"?

Yes...imagine accusing someone with a 'bad self-tan'.... on Mumsnet! Seems rather incongruous to me that some posters in the past have done so.

I remember it well.

yes. Using women from a particular demographic to leverage India's self and others into the same comparator when they are male. And black women have been long criticised for their features etc historically.

Nothing racist there at all.... really???

but not when people do it to trans women?

Because they are MALE they are using language to try to convince people they are just like other women. It is dishonest.
