Signage on loos

Visited Stirling Sports Village for the first time yesterday. When I visited the loo, I noticed the signage was very clear: FEMALE and MALE. That set me thinking - it's rare to see toilets labelled so unequivocally isn't it? I don't suppose it'll stop anyone who feels they have a right to use the female loo from just using it, but it did make me do a little 'yes' under my breath!

Not sure what you mean. Transpeople can legally use facilities they identify as under the Equality Act 2010

I work in Alloa (15 mins from Stirling). All our work toilets are male or female signed and given we're in Alloa it would be a brave bloke using a woman's toilets! My?office has GN toilets but they're one toilet in one room so fair enough.

Got a penis in to male, got a vagina in to female. It really is rather simple. Anyone male with a penis can call themselves Marlene, wear a dress and make up but if they think they are a female they should appreciate many females are uncomfortable with a man with a penis in the loo with them.

That's good to hear. This is a council site, so given the sorry state of play in Scotland, I was surprised to see it.

The gym I belong to has changing rooms 'Female' and 'Male'
I was very impressed to arrive once recently to find a young woman staff member guarding the door to the Female space to warn me that a man was in there doing maintenance work and that I might prefer to wait.

How many times does this need to be said, only if they have had gender surgery. Not any Tom, dick or Harry.

Sorry but you're both wrong.

The EA allows for exemptions permitting single sex spaces.

It's legal to refuse men (including those with a GRC so that they have paperwork allowing them to pretend that they are women and including men who have had surgery to try and resemble women more closely) entry to female spaces and that includes public toilets.

No surgery required. Just a certificate to say they 'intend to live as a woman'.
