A really depressing but timely piece. The conversion therapy pre-legislation work has got to include all this:

Children are being encouraged to challenge their fundamental biology, to question their sex and the deepest assumptions they have made about their identities. It can be the beginning of a journey leading ultimately to irreversible sex-change surgery. And it is adolescent girls who are most affected."

No to detract too far but that website is incredibly sus. Can’t find who runs it or who owns it, nothing in the privacy policy etc.

I don’t trust campaign groups if I can’t see what else their leaders have been up to.

I do vaguely remember the site from a while ago. But I get what you mean. Trouble is, with a rudderless DfE / captured DfE / DfE kicking the can down the road (take your pick), this will happen. Either it's questionable, or it's parents too scared to disclose more in case the police or social services come knocking for Wrong Think.

The website is not suspicious but I don’t expect anyone to take my word for that 😁

What a good article.

I' ve certainly seen the contagion aspect, particularly in girls schools. One goes, they all go. Whole friendship groups slowly turn, as no-one wants to be left out. If you are anything slightly less than the full on long hair, full make up, girly girly, pretty girl, you must be gay, bi, trans whatever. God forbid you cut your hair. It's a nightmare.

Similar happened at DCs school and also at the same time they were bombarded with talks about MH. These are 12 year olds who still sleeping with their favourite teddy while are being presented with complexities and concepts they have never considered. Confused and desperate to fit in they are easily led by group think on these things. DD was alarmed by the number that self diagnosed a MH condition or started to use pronouns after these talks and workshops. Her feeling was it wasn't ok to just be bland and ordinary, it was a the done thing to have a label of something on your social media bio.

The Year Head at our daughter’s school who ensured the school supported her social transition behind our backs and against clinical advice actually put in writing:

”We just saw a young person who had had many issues in the past and thought this may have been an answer for [daughter]”

Her “many issues” had been severe bullying and ostracisation at the school

I’m still furious about that comment. 😡
