Training by Mermaids has been scrapped at the NHS trust replacing the Tavistock clinic. Good news but why were they ever going to be involved in the first place?

Excellent news to wake up to.

Helleofabore · 21/01/2023 06:46

That is good news. But who then will be doing to training?

I guess we shall be watching with care.

ofwarren · 21/01/2023 06:48

Great news!
Absolutely no idea why they were going to allow them to do it in the first place though.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 21/01/2023 07:18

Hopefully all NHS training will focus on how to deliver safe, medically ethical and respectful health care that cures patients. There's no role in that for toxic organisations that use "training" to gaslight and confuse, coerce adults to ignore science and facts, let alone one that breaches safeguarding and promotes harmful untested for purpose 'healthcare' for vulnerable children.

Shut Mermaids down.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 21/01/2023 07:19

Hopefully all future attempts to interfere in the NHS will be outed and stopped.

Motorcyclemptiness · 21/01/2023 07:23

very good news. I'm up to hear with that evil organisation

Malariahilaria · 21/01/2023 07:26

Excellent news. Why anyone is still with them I have no idea.

Hopefully all future attempts to interfere in the NHS will be outed and stopped.

Hopefully it is now Crystal clear to them that there is a huge amount of public interest in this new service and they won't be able to carry on in the same way as they did before.

Good, they should never have been involved in the first place.

Villagetoraiseachild · 21/01/2023 10:00

So glad to hear this. Not before time.
I hope all the previous and current patients get all the holistic care and healing they need.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 21/01/2023 10:06

worryingly though it seems it was only because Sonia Sodha tweeted about it & the CEO picked up on it that this reversal happened.

Mermaids NHS training scrapped.
Villagetoraiseachild · 21/01/2023 10:11

All hail to Sonia Sodha in that case then. Queen Peaker.

Boiledbeetle · 21/01/2023 10:45

It goes show that that all these institutions need watching at all times, as they keep proving they can't be trusted to follow the rules.

No one involved in the new service should even have had mermaids on a piece of paper as a potential choice of trainer. Yet they were about to have them in, training people.

I want to know how that happened?

It's Fucking ridiculous.

On the plus side that's another hole in mermaids finances. Oh dear never mind.

Do we know when the result of the LGB Alliance / Mermaids car crash of a court case is due?
