Tom Daley's Surrogacy documentary scrapped

Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley's BBC documentary Surrogacy is no longer happening, it's been confirmed.

First announced in 2018, the one-off special would have seen Tom exploring how surrogacy operates in the UK, comparing the situation with that in the US state of California

How curious - she got kicked out of the venue for being the aggressor and was subsequently questioned by the police, but he’s the one who has actually been charged with a crime!

Presumably the CCTV footage is the key to the CPS decision?

If he hadn’t called the police over this ‘tap’ then that would have been the end of the matter. Entitled man thinks he can get the police to do his bidding when a woman pisses him off. Glad the CCTV is showing that the only assault was committed by him.

Oh my goodness, I never realised that Daley was only 18 when he met his 20-years-older husband. I'd be horrified if an 18yo I knew was dating a 38yo. Yuk.

It will be interesting to see what comes out in the court case. I expect there's lots we don't know because the media have to be careful not to prejudice a criminal trial. It does seem unusual for throwing a drink to get to this stage.

It could be a great documentary if it was presented by someone who was less involved. There is no reason why Tom should not be interviewed but he and his husband so have a track record here, they arranged their surrogacy on California as they were not happy with UK laws.

What, the UK laws that don't allow you to buy a woman to have children for you?

Good. I can't stand that man or the way he pushes using women as human incubators which ties in nicely with his twaw mantra as we're just bodies to be used for validation and breeding to him

Sorry to say that there is a section of gay men who see women as 'breeders' and heterosexual sex as 'for breeding'. They certainly know what a woman is and reduce her to her uterus.

The most extreme misogynists I have ever met have been gay men - to them women are for incubating their designer babies and cleaning their expensive homes and organising the dry cleaning.

Thankfully they are a small percentage of gay men overall but from what’s visible in the media, DBA is definitely one of them.

Black and Daley are heavy hitters in trying to move the UK's surrogacy system to a more U.S. model. It's a bit odd though as I don't think embryo sex selection will be allowed in the U.K. and it seems very likely to me that they have opted for that.

A book about a history of knitting mentioned that some fishing communities had men and women and children all knitting, especially in the winter season, because they were also sheep herding communities and got much of their additional income from selling mittens. It also mentioned that the ones who in the very early times knitted the silk hose of noblemen were male themselves as that occupation paid well enough to become male.

I think if you sell your designs a little more is needed than knowing how to knit, in any case.
