YES!!!

bellinisurge · 17/01/2023 21:06

Wowzer

MrsOvertonsWindow · 17/01/2023 21:06

Good news. Creating a hostile environment for women courtesy of Stonewall was never going to last.

Cherry60 · 17/01/2023 21:11

Great news!

Fantastic! LSE, of course, is (or perhaps was) the employer of the Mermaids trustee and paedophile apologist Jacob Breslow and the alma mater of Matt A. Thompson, who wrote a charming piece threatening violence against women while a Master's student there, on a course led by the egregious Dr Breslow. Details below.

The wokes are fleeing the wokes. What does it mean?! Great news in any case.

Times are hard. Presumably this saves not just whatever they were paying Stonewall for the privilege of being assessed, but also potentially the cost of several staff members mainly engaged on carrying out Stonewall's demands and collating information for the next assessment. They could usefully be re-trained to help students with disabilities, perhaps.

Sazzasez · 17/01/2023 23:36

The LGBTQWERTI+ society’s demands are pretty funny...

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/01/2023 06:56

I couldn't bring myself to read them, but saw a tweet about them wanting LSE to set up a gender expression fund to help students pay for items needed for their transition. Also, a special common room. [Grin]

Florissant · 18/01/2023 07:11

Hurray!

Stonewall has dug its own grave then

Cellotapedispenser · 18/01/2023 07:42

Fantastic news! The more reputable organisation leave, hopefully more will follow. This week I received a company wide email asking us to use pronouns and telling us to encourage our teams to do so. I deleted it and got on with my job, not pandering to this crap.

FOJN · 18/01/2023 07:45

I wonder if the students union know discriminative has two meanings.

Anyway they use LGBTQ+ throughout but seem fixated on the QT+ as usual.

To be fair, that wasn't a Stonewall demand, it came from the LSE Students' Union. Obviously taking their cue from a hoary old FWR favourite, the manifesto from Action on Trans Health many years ago now. www.tumblr.com/edinburghath/163521055802/trans-health-manifesto

Crikey, you just can’t tell that was written by student activists, can you?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/01/2023 07:48

It's like something out of The Young Ones, isn't it! Grin

Needmoresleep · 20/01/2023 07:57

Interesting timing in that LSE have just sent out an announcement that the current Director is leaving this summer to become President of Columbia U. Good if she is clearing the decks before she goes, rather than leaving it to her, still to be decided, successor.

As Abba (almost) sung:

To amuse, some “the internet never forgets” screenshots in about the fifth post of this MN thread.

www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/3209406-this-is-just-i-have-no-words?flipped=1

Then LSE student and SU LGBT Officer, and now all round media irritant Benjamin Butterworth, being criticised by fellow students for alleged trans-racialism.
