PSNI sex discrimination case

Emma Bond, ex Chief Superintendent of PSNI (now an Assistant Chief Constable with Police Scotland) is making a claim against PSNI for sex discrimination.

PSNI has more Catholic officers than it does female ones. That statistic alone speaks volumes.

More info here (lifted from the paywalled BelTel) on how A former senior PSNI officer has claimed she was discriminated against by police for being a woman and was removed from her position as police commander in Londonderry as a result.

I know. Institutional misogyny in the police. Shocking revelation. It will, though, be interesting to see where it goes.

More Catholic officers than female , by less than 1% mind you. I wish her well with the case.

51 Officers is arguably insignificant when talking about groups of a couple of thousand - but given the context, especially when Byrne’s response to horrific sectarianism by officers is basically “it’s so dreadful, bad apples, mumble mumble”, I don’t think it is.
